Are there any Pokemon you see as specific animals?

So basically, are there any Pokemon species you think are supposed to be certain animals, even if you aren’t sure if that is true or not? As for me…

On Mandjtv’s ‘missing starter Pokemon’ Youtube video, the top comment says that there should be a generation where, quoted by Youtube user TheHummingBrok, says, as I directly quote, “A water monkey, fire tortoise, and grass crocodile would be an elite starter trio”.

Perhaps so. Even though Simipour, Torkoal, and Appletun all exist. And yes, I think Appletun is the closest we have to a Grass crocodile, tbh. It’s a dragon, and kind of looks likes like a crocodile if you squint a little.

I originally thought Karrablast was a cockroach at first and I still kind of do.

And no one can convince me that Leavanny isn’t a grasshopper. You just can’t, it DEFINITELY is one.

So what’s it for you guys?

I've always seen all the Eeveelutions as cats, except Jolteon, I don't know why but I've always seen him specifically as a dog.
Probably because he's my favourite, and I want him to be more special, but who can say?

My hot take that doesn't actually matter but i will die on the hill on is that the legendary beasts are felines!!! Aside from that i have a tumblr post with a decent amount of notes where i refer to Aron as a dog and you know what i still stand by that it's a puppy to me.

Grasshoppers, famous for producing silk and undergoing metamorphosis (I jest, obviously, Pokemon loves to contradict real world biology anyway)
My personal opinion on Leavanny, for the matter, is likely a leaf mimicing mantidfly similar to species like Drepanicus gayi. Grows up from a caterpillar-looking larva and pupates in a silk cocoon. Besides, can't go stealing thunder from my locust king (points to icon) (this will make very little sense if/when I ever change it)

So true, tbh. To me Raikou and Entei are saber toothed cats and Suicune is some kind of Jaguar-esque creature (due to being associated with water in a lot of mesoamerican mythology). Also I can see the Aron-dog connection. Puppy with a little helmet on

Also camerupt are cattle or at least bovines of some sort I don't care what GameFreak calls them. That not what camels look like!

Munna is a dugong rather than a tapir X-) . The snout resembles a dugong's more.

i like the idea of mew being a jerboa, even if really it is easier to see it as a cat.
i remember i used to be adamant about umbreon being a cat when i was a kid, too. i can still see it, but i also think it'd be cute to see it as a hare. at this point my interpretations are less about having one correct answer in my head, and more about fun ways to look at them
