Are there any Pokemon you used to consider as some of your favourites, but not anymore?

So what the title says, are there any pokemon, that used to be one of your top 10 favourite mons or even your outright favourite, back when you were younger or at one point in time… but as of now they are not even close to your favourites.

I remeber back when Gen7 came out, Oranguru was one of my favourite new species. I… honestly cannot remember why. But I did make effort to get on on my Moon playthrough team, and it ended up being a surprisingly useful teammate who helped my team greatly.

As for why it’s not my favourite anymore… simply put, my tastes in designs changed, and now, Oranguru’s design… just isn’t interesting to me anymore. It’s just not a design that really screams anything to make me need to use it on my team. And while It was great the first time I tried it out, I’ve never had a particularly useful one in a nuzlocke. It never had the best stats or movepool on the team, and more often than not took too much damage from attacks or even straight out died to them.

So while there has been many species that have come and gone as my favourites, that’s the only specific case where it was amongst my top favourites at one point, but as of now not even close.

For me the only case I remember simply has to do with more Pokemon getting introduced. Back when Indigo League was my first and only exposure to the series I liked Pidgeotto and Jolteon the most, but when I got back into the series years later and saw the expanded roster, Espeon replaced Jolteon as my favorite Eeveelution (and became my all-time favorite) and for Pidgeotto, well, it's alright but I don't have any special feelings towards it anymore. But I remember kid me getting emotional over Ash's Pidgeotto evolving and getting released, haha.

Eevee and its Evolutions, i was completely and utterly obsessed with them as a child and while i still hold some nostalgic attachment to them, i don't know if id place any of them in my top ten favorite pokemon anymore. Maybe Jolteon? But that's mostly because it reminds me of an oc i'm very attached to than anything.

I LOVED Gardevoir as a kid. It was my number one fave for much of the mid-late 2000s. I still love it now but not as much as I once did. The internet kinda tarnished it for me sadly.

One of my childhood OC had Plusle, Minun and Grumpig on his team, nowadays I don't care that much about either.

My 11 year old self also had Piplup, Chimchar and Mime jr. tagged as Sinnoh favorites, they have dropped some cases since then.

Malamar and Floette have always being among my Kalos' favorites, but I've always wondered if they are really Top tier or not, and in a region with so few Pokemon it's harder to know. I prefer Goomy and Tyrantrum now but my opinion changes constantly.

I used to love Eevee and it's evolutions but due to the merchandise overloading fatigue (to the point I called them a "slop") and the extreme staleness of them, not to mention inferior stat spreads and disgustingly terrible movepool making some of them the worst Pokémon I've ever dealt with (Linus Torvalds reference), I began hating the whole line out of this sheer bitterness.

As I get older, my tastes has shifted as well. While Zigzagoon line is also one of my favorites, my main favorite is Raichu since I'm getting back into Pikachu line more than before.

 

[Elusian Roserade]

Staraptor used to be one of my favorite Sinnoh Pokemon, but at some point I suddenly didn't like it much anymore, and I'm not sure why. Maybe I started to feel burnt out with the Starly line after the D/P remakes and Legends Arceus? That's the only reason I can think of.
