Are we expecting the opening to change in Japan soon?

The Galactic/Hunter J stuff in the opening is outdated now. Likewise Ambipom has been gone for awhile yet is still in the opening.

Anyone think there is going to be a new opening in Japan soon?
 
Yeah I agree, we already have a Johto style ending and now we need a Johto style opening which would trying to shove in just about everything into two minutes.

I also hope Rica Matsumoto sings the song solo.
 
As I see it, it's really obvious that we'll get a new OP:
1. The current OP is called "High Touch 2009" - why would it stay for 2010? (and no, I doubt we'd get THIRD version...)
2. It looks like there's still about half a year (=26 eps) if not more until the end of Sinnoh, and that's enough for a new OP
3. They clearly stopped to update the scenes and they're seriously outdated:
- Team Galactic
- J
- Ambipom (+Gliscor if it does leave)
- No Cynda
- No Gible
- No Barry

I know, but look at all the others: "Together" got 2 versions, "Kaze no Message" got 2 versions...
Also, as I explained we need a brand new animation for the OP so it won't look so outdated - if they make new animation, they'll probably want a brand new song to go with it too
This reminds me that apparently "Ashita wa Kitto" will get a new version on "Dotchi nyo"'s CD... I wonder if this new version might be the next ED

As long as we get another epic Ash's Pokemon scene like in high touch. Where his Pokemon charge towards the viewer.

In that case, I hope this time there's also a similar scene of Dawn's Poké... maybe instead of charge towards the viewer, they can do some performance together or something like that... reminds me the scene of May's Pokémon in "Pokémon Symphonic Medley" or whatever it's called, OP 8 (AG 3) it had a scene of Ash's team attack the Regis and immediately after it a scene of May's team doing some kind of performance
Even "Together" at least had that additional scene of Dawn's Poké in that scene where she's releasing Pip and Bunny with the seals effect... I really don't know why "High Touch" didn't do it, especially since it's supposed to showcase them as equals more than "Together" was supposed to...
 
We do, I think we should have another Spurt opening.(not the same song but something similar) It would be cool if it would show some important things that happened in Ash's adventures and all his Pokémon like Spurt did.
 
I wonder if they won't do another scene showing the older characters.
 
Oh please. I actually like the new version of High Touch, but COME ON! We need a Rica Matsumoto OP already! D:
 
Maybe the OP should change. Because Ambipom already left (and Gliscor might, too). Plus, Chimchar evolved and Ash might get Gible.
 
Considering that many of the captures shown in the OP have changed, and the fact that the main Ginga-dan arc has ended, the anime seems due for one. I'm just hoping that it will come before it tops Together in episodes used.
 
well, so long as this opening doesn't drag out for as long as Together did, I'm fine. I mean, High Touch has been around for a good year now, but my god, Together... that shit was still using a scene that more or less promoted the Manaphy movie a good two years into Diamond/Pearl (J and Ginga Dan have nothing on that), and when you think it's finally time for it to die, they just do a fucking remix (and it's not like they even used it in the opening of the new Shaymin movie at the time, so it's like what's the point?). Though I guess that's still better than getting two (crappy) remixes [cough]Hikari's theme[cough]. At least High Touch's remixed version (what the hell is with remixes this generation? They all dried out of original songs now?) came along when it wasn't so horribly worn out.

I agree. Why did they even show Manaphy in the first DP opening? Movie 9 was fairly recent at the time, but why acknowledge a previous generation of a movie so early on?

Kind of kills the "clean slate" mentality both AG and DP had at the start.
 
Um... Guys, Manaphy is a Gen 4 Pokémon. It's promoting the DP Pokémon, not the ninth movie.

you say that, and yet, it happened to pop up with both a Tamanta and a Buoysel... yeah, totally not a 9th movie tie-in.
 
^ Yeah, just like Movie 10 and 11 had tie-in's in the two DP openings as well, the Manaphy there was pretty obviously for Movie 9.

Anyway, they'll need a new opening to wipe Ambipom and Gliscor out of existance. Because y'know, the writers decided to bring great Pokemon with memorable personalities into the show, only to get rid of them a year or so later essentially making them seem completely pointless.
 
The change of a year did not stop High Touch from running clear until the middle of this year until it got the year tagged onto the end. I did some research, and High Touch 2009 has only just skirted past the shortest time we've had an opening (Together 2008 with 16 eps lasting 4 mon 10 days) High Touch 2009 has currently lasted for 19 eps which spanned 4 mon 23 days. However, if you are saying we may need to change the song itself and not just have a yearly remix, then High Touch has lasted 56 eps total, over a time span of 1 year 1 mon 23 days, making it the #4 longest running opening to date. (if I were to also merge the total running time of Together, which would make it by far the #1 longest running opening)
