do you get cards to battle with them, or do you just want a complete collection?

I'm not into the cards anymore, but back in the days, I was a pure collector. I managed to amass nearly all the cards from the base set, and all the non-rares from the Jungle and Fossil series before realizing that this was more or less pointless, not to mention awfully expensive (packs of 11 cards could go for up to 15$ over here). I only got a single Team Rocket series card (KOFFING!), and no cards from later series for quite a while.

After getting ahold of an e-reader, I bought a slew of loose cards, but never manage to get ahold of the correct cards to play any of the minigames other than the full game that came with the e-reaer.

I collect cards, but I also LOVE battling with my decks.

I'm a collector. I've been notoriously bad at card games ever since my brother tried to teach me the ways of Magic, so I just stick to collecting the things. I've only actually completed the first four sets though.

I'm definitely a collector. When the TCG first came out I made a few decks, but was still a collector. I lost interest in the cards, but recently got back into them with the arrival of Diamond and Pearl, making me want to collect rare and favorite monster cards I've missed from Ruby & Sapphire, as well as Diamond and Pearl. So I'm still a collector, but lately I've been trying to build a deck, but I don't completely understand all the new rules of the TCG.

The only thing I can picture making me play the TCG would be if they made another video game. (Which Nintendo really should, the DS is a perfect platform for it and card games don't have to be expensive to make) I also collect the TFG.

Just a Collector. I like the excitment of finding rare cards.

I'm a collector, but I would love to have someone to battle with... Building decks is fun.

Collector ALL the way.

I only collect cards that have Pokemon I like, people I like, or that I think look pretty.

I've had an up and down experience.

I started out as both collector and battler, actively participating in local leagues (as I'm sure many have in the early TCG days). When the local tourneys ended I became less interested and only picked up a booster from each new set that came out then after (just to see what's up with the metagame).

Lately my friends have been enjoying some nostalgic battles with the numerous decks I've made over the years. Fun stuff. I never thought my decks would see so much action up against themselves.

I would like to get back into the tourney scene, though that would probably require me to reassemble my deck with a bunch of more recent cards.

at the moment i just want to complete the great encounters set, then i might do secret wonders & mysterious treasures. if it doesn't cost too much. but hey, I lieks 'coz i got a holofoil MUDKIPZ!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a collecter. Though I haven't collected in a while. I just want to complete both GL sets.

I'd like to battle but I'd prefer it with the older cards and no one wants to do that. Plus the only time I've battled is on TCG for GB, lol.

I used to be quite into collecting cards and used to buy japanese cards of people as they are rarer here.

Then one day when I was in a fare there was this chinese looking woman who tried to sell me fake pokemon decks. One packet of cards had pikachu on it, one had tentacool. One card was "Mistys Tentacool" and it said that it hated team rocket on it.

Even though the cards were fake, they looked cool.

I used to have nearly all base set and jungle, but got upset when I could not get a shiny mew card from the movie anywhere. When I went to see Pokemon the Movie 2000, they were out of cards.

The only cards I wanted where the southern Islands (Think it was that) set and all alternate pikachu cards but never managed to get those and stopped collecting about 2 years ago or so

Wow, I'm surprised at the Collector:Battler ratio here.

Collector through and through. I try to get as many as I can, but I've never actually completed any sets or anything.

TCG for DS would be great.

I'm a player all the way. There's no way I can afford to collect, so I have a couple of very small collections (Ampharos and Drifblim) but I'm all about playing. Lots of fun.

DS TCG game would be godly. Plus new sets could be downloaded over WFC - the game could actually be USEFUL to playtest decks before spending money on cards to build them.

I used to be both a hardcore player and collector. I remember how exciting it was opening a pack and never knowing what you were gonna get... and how awesome it was when I finally made the "Perfect" deck. (I still remember I was 73W and 1L with it :p)...

Seriously though, I used to have so many cards that I had 2 fairly large laundry baskets just to keep all my commons in. And half a dozen cigar and shoe boxes of Holo's.
This was mostly due to the fact that I had a mom that enjoyed pokemon almost as much as I did. XD

Now they have been mostly passed down and or sold on eBay. I buy a couple packs of the new series as they come out just to keep up. Though I doubt I will ever get back into it since the rules of the game have surely changed drastically since I was in it.

I always have been a collector. The whole card battling thing kind of confused me, so I never got into that. I get cards mostly for the purpose of looking at the shiny pictures and such.

Yeah, I was a fighter one day... until me and my family discovered a shop called Anime at Abbotsford that had pokemon merchandise galore!!!

I still Battle and Collect.
But mostly collect, as the pokemon fan base over here in Britain, it fairly low.
I have four decks, but three of them are pre-made, because I suck at making them :p

I have a shoe box full of cards.
I would have much more but my little brother destroyed my full set of the Kanto pokemon cards...

But I love the TGC video games!
And I would love to see one for the DS :D

Me, I am a collector. My friend gave me a Deoxys Card game pack for my birthday one year. It came with a manual and everything. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand a word of it! :(
