Might as well make it a poll, even though there's only two options.

I was walking through Target the other day when I noticed an Ash Ketchum action figure (with a weirdly pyramid-headed Pikachu, natch). Thinking about it, I went online and looked for figures featuring the human protagonists from the Anime, and I learned that Dawn had a figure! So did Brock! Brock technically had two, if you count that immobile figure that came out during Generation I. Misty also had one, as did Team Rocket, and I believe Jenny/Joy, but I may be mistaken on that.

So I thought I'd create a topic about them. Most of the time, Pokémon are what we're being told to buy, but an anime character is thrown to us every now and again. Though I guess the most triumphant example of human characters in merchandise would be the ill-fated Trading Figure Game and it's Trainer Figures.

I enjoyed these figures, and was wondering what others thought. Feel free to vote and share your opinions.

I collect figures of Ash Ketchum, because he's my favorite character on the show. ^^

I have the original Ash figure from the 90s, where Ash is wearing his classic outfit. Then I have another figure which is exactly like that one, except it's posable.

Then, I have the Thinkchip Talking Ash figure (which came out around 2000 or 2001). He's my favorite figure from my collection. :ksmile:

And I also have the limited edition, posable Ash figure from Nintendo World. With this figure, Ash is wearing his Hoenn outfit. And by the way, this figure is my 2nd favorite, because of how posable Ash is. You can put him in all kinds of positions. =)

Hopefully, on Thursday, I can go to Target. I'd like to add the B/W Ash figure to my collection. ^^

Yes, I have a Dawn figure in my room, though I do wish there are more of her, as well as an official plushie.

The Ash and Misty figures I had as a kid were pretty nifty; Ash's hat turned backward on his head, and Misty's backpack had a little perch-thing on it for Horsea. Brock was a pretty dull lump of plastic, though.
So yeah, the human figures are pretty cool; I wouldn't mind having one of Wes or N (or Miror B. :D)

-only person to say no-

If they had the Red from FRLG, then maybe. Otherwise, no. I'd end up giving them magical powers that let them shoot beams from their eyes to fend of evil Pokemon. And I hate doing that.

I don't watch the anime, so I wouldn't be interested in anime figures.

If they had figures of the game characters (protags and rivals, plus major villains, champions, gym leaders and Elite Four members. etc.) I would be on that.

I got the poseable Ash that came with the Pokemon you could attach to his Pokeball, and I also have a Jessie figure. I had Brock, but I dunno where he went.

But Pokemon-Pokemon-wise, I got well over 200 of those! :D

Yup, definitely. I would love to have plushies of my favorite gym leaders, game NPCs and anime protagonists ^^

The defunct Trading Figure Game featured only game characters during its super-duper brief run. If you're interested, maybe you can still find some online somewhere.

I'm too old to play with toys, but when I was younger I did kind of want human figures back then. Those very original pokemon dolls were awful though.

I am surprised they never released a May figure in the U.S., because there are quite a number of Japanese toys for the character. I guess its because the pokemon toy license at the time wasn't in the hands of Jakks like when they made the DP figures of Ash, Dawn and Brock?

If they came with an appropriate Pokémon (such as Iris and Axew)

If I actually care for the toys, then I will agree. I think it's a cute idea to have plushes for human characters like Iris, Gardenia and Skyla, but at the same time, it can be kind of embarrassing to let people know this because of my masculinity.

Thanks for reading.

I always wanted an Ash plushie. But I don't think they make official plushies of the human characters, not even in Japan... =/

When I did my Google Searching for figures, I was surprised that there was no May Figure. Especially since there's an Ash AG figure.

Maybe if they remake RSE they'll do a Brendan/May figure set as a tie-in.

I think I remember or once had figures of Ash, Misty, Brock along with Jessie & James, all the way back in Gen I but I am not too sure if I am remembering right. I just think I might have had those sort of figures somewhere.

But I guess if I found them I would buy them. However those ones aren't really sold in Australia anymore or aleast where I am. Give me Cynthia and Flannery figures and I will buy it XD
