Apparently Arrested Development is returning for a new season (9-10 episodes focusing on each of the main cast), and will lead into the movie.

So who else is fucking stoked for this? I literally squealed like a little girl when I read this.

In short: anytime someone's talking about TV shows canceled before their time, or anything even remotely close to that subject, you can bet that Arrested Development will be mentioned.

Gotta say, if this pans out, I'll be one happy panda. Nine-ten episodes leading up to the movie is almost more than any of us could have hoped for.

I like how it's set for early 2013. Clearly they want us to die happy come December 2012. Our dying dreams will contain TV's greatest hours. I'm fucking ecstatic.

At the same time, I'm worried about putting it on a pedestal. The first three seasons are comedic gold, but it has been a few years.

Gah, sorry to be a downer. I think the worst that could happen is me setting my standards high and these episodes and movie maybe coming up a notch short. Like, overall its return will be great, but maybe they don't cover one or two plots or jokes that I really liked.

Honestly, I'll believe it when I see it. Given how long they've been working on getting this back, or getting a movie up...I just don't think I'll truly believe they've accomplished it until they've actually accomplished it. There are just too many things can still happen to prevent it from getting completed. Hope it does get completed, though.
