let's get some artistic shenanigans happening all up in this thread

salemcopy.png
I accidentally a fanart of the main character from my bropal's pokemorph fanfic.

Oh my goodness. *flails wildly in delight*
That Salem is the cutest thing I have seen all day.
I shall place an appropriate link to this thread in my signature!
(I recommend adding the other artistic endeavours you've done.)

I think it's adorable. :) I'm also glad Jack's first fanart was not a porn pin-up.

I reaaally don't draw much Pokemon fanart, so in an attempt to prevent this thread from crashing and burning, have a WIP sketch for a character from a mediaevalesque-setting fanfic I'm probably never going to get around to writing:

Haha how do I draw growlithe.

You draw growlithe well enough.
I love the clothing, I love the lack of pokéballs.

Sooo I am apparently uA's 'Official Illustrator' (which, I have to admit, is mostly by default - I'm the only artistically-inclined friend he has), which means I should probably post some more fanart of his characters in case people come a-looking for such. (Unfortunately, my whole 'i dunt draw many pokeymans' schtick applies here as well. I usually just draw the characters from his original novels, because aaargh pokemorphs are hard to draw you guys!!)

Here's a Verity from waaay back when her appearence was largely undefined:

And here's some more recent low-quality doodles of Verity and Salem, from when he came to visit and thus was able to give me real-time feedback on how they should look:

Those are the most gorgeous sketches. I'd love to see the second Verity coloured, even crudely; she looks appropriately badass. She's also the mental image I now have when writing her, more or less.

I'm ridiculously proud of this picture :D :D :D

You should be. You are a good artist and you should feel good. I feel good just staring at the picture.

That is cool. :3 I'm going to have to find someway to track your posts, because your art is really cool.
I love the expression on her face and the way growlithe hangs in the background, half curled around her and noticeable but not taking command of the picture.

Oh gosh the Verity pictures! They both look really cool, I love the feathers (I adore feathers) and the way the plating across her chest looks.

I've been drawing quite a lot recently, but none of it's really been pokemon-related. So to make up for that, I drew a fourteen-year-old pokemon trainer AU version of one of the characters from my original comic:

gotta catch 'em all LIKE A BOSS

During my Chemistry class today I doodled Verity from that pokemorph fanfic my friend is writing.

The anatomy in this picture is 100% bullshit or near enough, because I have a pretty loose grip on human anatomy in general, let alone birdhuman anatomy.

Been thinking a lot about her body! (and then I told Jack about my thoughts and he was all 'yup, that's canon now', which was cool). She can't fly, but her body is still built for flight, so she's got an obscenely broad and muscular chest (as an anchor for the wing muscles, and also to deal with the massive heart/lungs) and the rest of her limbs are incredibly skinny. There's a level of involuntary movement with her feathers: if she extends her arm then she will also automatically extend her feathers, and while it's entirely possible for her to keep them tucked close to her arms the whole time it just feels more natural for her to extend them. And she has no navel (also no nipples or breasts) because eggs.

Part II of my continuing failure to understand how anatomies work.

blaaargh I hate this picture so much right now D:<

I am really liking the style I see here, and even more so the colouring. That colouring is simply gorgeous. <3

Humanised versions of the Different Eyes cast, the result of a discussion with my friend about my headcanons for their ethnicities.

I'd really like some feedback on this! My usual modus operandi for drawing individual faces is to veer wildly into a cartoonesque style, so drawing them in a vaguely realisticesque style was a challenge. Keep in mind that I drew these without any face references, and also that I am Captain Assburger with the superpower of not knowing how to parse faces and I am intensely confused about ethnicity and different ethnic groups have different faces apparently?? aaargh faces are hard enough to deal with without ethnicities making them even more complicated!!

Salem is mixed-race (Afro-European), and I think she is adorable. She has dreadlocks as part of my evil plan to avoid having to draw curly hair.
Dusk is middle-easten/Arabic. She seems to be channelling Audrey Hepburn, I honestly have no idea how that happened.
Nathan was supposed to be Latino/Hispanic/whatever but I have. no idea what I ended up doing with him. CAPTAIN ASSBURGER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FACES.
Verity is white because I wanted her to have those elegantangular vaguely-avian features, and ginger because it is my favourite hair colour.
Pyre is black I guess?? I'm really not capable of giving more information than that. He's a fighter, so scars.
Haze is Asian albino because shiny=albino or something?? iunno, whatever, I just think that non-white albinos are really really pretty.

haha Jack hasn't seen these yet *sits and waits for him to joss all my faceheadcanons*

Oh gosh. I have way too many feels about those faces. The expressions are so perfect and the races work so well and aaaaaaaaaaah I just lost my ubiquitous eloquence and articulation look at it go.

Continuing with my humanised pokemon faces, here are the main characters (I hesitate to say heroes) from the fic I'm currently working on:

joechazguscopy.png
Haha I have no idea what the hell kind of ethnicities I was going for here.

I've been writing so many pokeymans that the idea of drawing them as well makes me want to shoot myself, so have an original character:

kestrel_by_r0_s3-d533sr5.png
Kestrel. Her surname is either Chazwick or Chadwick, I can't decide (leaning towards the latter).
I want to draw her comic, because it involves cross-dressers and zombies and lobster people and a crocodile mafia and at one point she punches a sapient tree in the face.

She went to university to study as a magician, but dropped out halfway through her first year to make her living with card tricks and con tricks and magic tricks.
Her tattoos are dexterity wards, and they are fucking annoying to draw.
