Arven, Perrin, and Sonia debut new Sync Pairs in Pokémon Masters EX alongside launch of the latest Academy Event, Academy Fair—Prep

Three new Sync Pairs are making their debuts in Pokémon Masters EX today alongside the launch of the game's latest Academy Event, Academy Fair—Prep. Players will receive Arven & Skwovet simply for starting the event, while Perrin (Academy) & Noctowl and Sonia (Academy) & Corviknight make their debuts in separate Costume Scouts.

Academy Event: Academy Fair—Prep
In this new Academy Event running through to April 28th, at 10:59pm (PDT), players will have the opportunity for the first time to have a direct input on in-game events.

In Academy Events, players team up with a special Sync Pair, who initially only knows a single move. These Sync Pairs are released starting at Lv. 140, with the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock an EX Role. During your Academy Experience, the event's featured Sync Pair will have a special In-Training Sync Grid. After completing the Final Exam stage, players will be able to select the Sync Grid they'd like to retain as their completed grid for the Sync Pair, which will then apply from then on when the pair is used outside the Academy Event. Over the course of the event, as players battle and interact with other Trainers at the Pasio Academy, they will acquire exclusive Sync Orbs and TM Orbs to upgrade and customize this Sync Pair with different Passive Skills and moves. The amount of items that players can acquire is limited, so players will need to think long and hard about exactly what kind of Sync Pair you want to raise their Sync Pair to be. If you get it wrong or want to try out another combination though, there's no stress! Players are free to can complete and replay each Academy Event as many times as they like over the course of the event until they get the Sync Pair of their dreams, however every time the event is restarted the Sync Pair's upgrades will also be reset. Each time the event is fully completed, players receive 4× Custom 5★ Power-Ups for the event's featured Sync Pair, with any excess able to be traded in the exchange. Each Academy Event also includes a set of exclusive stories, which appear at random, giving players another incentive to repeat the event if they've not yet managed to unlock every single one.

The featured Sync Pair for this latest Academy Event is 5★ Arven & Skwovet. All players will unlock Arven & Skwovet immediately after completing How to Enjoy the Academy Fair.

Starting from this Academy Event, several quality of life changes have also been made to the event format to make it easier to play. Most notably, players will now be able to skip certain battles by using Skip Tickets after having previously completed the same battle without any Sync Pairs fainting. Please note that the Exam battles, as well as battles with Recommended Levels of 140 or higher, cannot be skipped.

Similar to regular Story Events, players will receive an amount of bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates for this event are as follows:

• Perrin (Academy) & Noctowl and Sonia (Academy) & Corviknight: +100% (×2.0) bonus rewards
• Arven & Skwovet: +50% (×1.5) bonus rewards
• Kris (Academy) & Igglybuff, Jasmine (Academy) & Forretress, Kabu (Academy) & Camerupt, Iris (Academy) & Lapras, Gladion (Academy) & Porygon-Z, Marnie (Academy) & Cyclizar, Morty (Academy) & Typhlosion, Rei (Academy) & Braviary, Hugh (Academy) & Pignite, Brendan (Academy) & Marshtomp, Florian & Lechonk, and both forms of Rosa (Academy) & Deerling: +30% (×1.3) bonus rewards
• All other Paldea and Galar Sync Pairs: +10% (×1.1) bonus rewards

These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Arven & Skwovet, and any two other Paldea or Galar sync pairs would grant a combined +70% (×1.7) rewards.

Additionally, for this Academy Event, special area info allowing players to acquire large numbers of custom Sync Orbs will greadually appear more easily from the second playthrough of the event onwards, meaning most players should be able to end up with an S+ rank Sync Pair with enough attempts.

Based on player's votes using the Academy Fair Support Voucher items that can be earned by completing missions as part of this event, one of three different attractions, Haunted House, Band, or Café, will be the focus of an Academy Event in the back half of this year. Sync Pairs matching the selected attraction theme will also return for that event.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:

• To participate, unlock Arven & Skwovet's 6★ EX status, or unlock Arven & Skwovet's EX Role, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
• The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.

Log-in Bonuses
Academy Event: Academy Fair—Prep includes multiple sets of log-in bonuses. The Academy Event Support Log-In Bonus will be held twice, with one bulk reward each time:

• First Run: April 13th at 10:59pm (PDT) through April 20th at 10:59pm (PDT)
  • Day 1: Stamina Ticket ×10
• Second Run: April 20th at 10:59pm (PDT) through April 27th at 10:59pm (PDT)
  • Day 1: Stamina Ticket ×10

A separate Support Your Favorite Log-In Bonus will also be available until April 28th, at 10:59pm (PDT), awarding the items required for players to cast their votes for the future event.

• Days 1-10: Academy Fair Support Voucher ×1

Gem Specials
In conjunction with the launch of this Academy Event, the following three Gem Specials will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until April 15th, at 10:59pm (PDT):

• 48h April event gem special 1: Gems ×1,000
• 48h April event gem special 2: Gems ×4,000
• 48h April event gem special 3: Gems ×10,000

Additionally, the following four Event Gem Specials will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until May 3rd, at 10:59pm (PDT):

• April event gem special 2: Gems ×1,800
• April event gem special 3: Gems ×3,900
• April event gem special 4: Gems ×7,000

Academy Costume Scouts
Perrin (Academy) & Noctowl and Sonia (Academy) & Corviknight are making their debut in separate sets of Costume Scouts alongside the launch of the Academy Fair—Prep Academy Event.

• The Perrin Costume Scout, Perrin Costume Tiered Scout, Sonia Costume Scout, and Sonia Costume Tiered Scout will run through until April 28th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
• The Perrin Costume Featured Ticket Scout, Perrin Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout, Sonia Costume Featured Ticket Scout, and Sonia Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout will run through to May 5th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
• The Presents! Limit 1! 48-Hour Limited Paid-Gem Costume Scout ×25 A and Presents! Limit 1! 48-Hour Limited Paid-Gem Costume Scout ×25 B will be available only until April 15th, at 10:59pm (PDT)

The Perrin Costume Scout and Sonia Costume Scout each give players bonus presents for the first three times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11, awarding Sprint and Support Move Candy Coins each time respectively. Both Costume Scouts also include daily discounts, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. These daily discounts can each be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

The Perrin Costume Tiered Scout and Sonia Costume Tiered Scout meanwhile have ten tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11. Players are able to scout once on each tier by using Paid Gems, with the amount of gems increasing with each tier. Additionally, Tiers 5 and 10 of each grant the player special tickets to use in the associated Perrin Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout and Sonia Costume Featured Ticket Scout.

Trainers can also take advantage of two separate Presents! Limit 1! Scouts focused on each of these sync pairs. As the names suggest, these whopping ×25 Scouts requiring 5,000 paid gems can only be used a single time each.

Gym Emotes
Special Gems with Gym Emotes offers are available from the in-game shop, allowing players to obtain Perrin (Academy) & Noctowl and Sonia (Academy) & Corviknight as presents. These offers, which come with 250 paid gems, can each be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until April 28th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Pasio Gym Battles Updates
The event period of future Pasio Gym Battles will be adjusted (i.e. delayed) in order for the developers to implement several improvements and fixes.

Scoring Changes
As a result of gyms obtaining higher than anticipated scores, some important changes are going to be made to the scoring system.

Up until now, if multiple players took on the same battle at the same time, each score would be added to the count. From Pasio Gym Battle No. 3 onwards, only the score of the player whose results were finalized first will be reflected. Any other players who took on the battle at the same time will not have their scores counted, however they will also have their Gym Battle Challenge Tickets from that battle refunded.

All players will be receiving ×1000 Non-paid Gems as compensation for this change. The date for this compensation has yet to be announced.

Free Gems in compensation for.... Free Gems?
In a somewhat strange announcement, the developers acknowledged an issue where First-time rewards of 30 gems were mistakenly added to all battles up to Circuit 8 in the recent Pasio Gym Battle No. 2: Galar Gym Leaders Assembled. As compensation for accidentally giving us those free gems, all players are receiving ×300 Non-paid Gems. Players will have until May 13th at 10:59pm (PDT) to log into the game and claim these additional free gems.
