Hi, I don't expect any of you to read everything or anything I have to say just take a few considerations into account before involving yourself in this subject.
Sorry but this had to be done, someone had to do it. I've been digging deep into this relationship for quite a few months now ever since they released the first trailers showcasing Serena. Please take into consideration that I have no problems against any other shipping Ashxwhatever I am just trying to support my thoughts and opinion on this. You seeeeeee.... I really want this to happen in fact I'm hoping that the writers will look past the fact that Pokemon XY is mostly directed towards children. But think about this in another way, most Disney movies (Aladin, Snow White, Beauty & the Beast) had a lot of romance in them even till recently I found out that the Lion King had a scene where both Simba and Nala were mating with each other. Last Airbender had a ton of romance in it even if it was towards kids.
There doesn't even need to be any kissing involved or any other kind of romantic actions involving affections. Just you know...compassion...
Out of all the shippings involving Ash and another female companion he one travelled with I have to say that this is the most likely. Ash and Serena have been shown to have known each other since childhood though I don't really know how that went down just the fact that they were good and possibly more than friends and that they held hands at least once. This still doesn't give us enough evidence however (which sucks) but it does indicate and suggest that there might have been something going on.
We don't know whether they were neighbours or maybe one of them was came for vacation and stayed for some time but we do know this much. Serena was delighted to seeing her old friend again and witnessed his brave acts on tv. Throughout the series Ash has been shown to influence a lot of people and make tons of friends because of his deep care for pokemon. It's also been suggested throughout the series that he can understand the way Pokemon feel. This makes people like him and see him as an influential figure. One of the reasons that Clemont joined the team was because he commented the fact that Ash gave him courage. The rest of the characters were surprised by how far Ash would go for pokemon (Even jumping off a building without hesitation to join his buddy Pikachue). He's not an idiot, he's just incredibly caring. I remember how a lot of people used to comment on how Ash should have brought Charizard with him to Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc but what fun would that be? There would be no challenge just Charizard beating up every Pokemon and challenger they'd come across. But back to my point, maybe Serena sees Ash as a sort of influential figure even if I don't want it that way. We have to analyse ever possibility.
So let's gather the information we got so far; she could be a really great friend or an admirer, which I really hope is not the case.
A lot of people have been commenting on the fact that Serena is shown to blush when speaking to Ash. It could indicate something, but then again blushing because blood circulates all the way to the head. It doesn't exactly mean that she might have a crush, it could just be out of excitement for seeing her old friend. She's also seen offering him a handkerchief. There's a saying that if someone offers you a handkerchief means they like you or at the very least deeply care for you.
Well then with all the evidence we have so far, I'd say it's most likely that there is something going on. If I had to put a number in it would be most likely 70%....nah more like 80%. If it doesn't happen then it'll most likely be because the directors took into consideration that this is mostly a kid's show.
