There was a lot of debate about whether it would be included... IT IS!

And even retains the name Ash Greninja! This and the demo revelaed have made me so happy!
What do you think?

Is this good, or were you one of the ones who didn't think, or hoped it wouldn't be included? What will its stats be?

Oh boy... the anime is getting into my games. Fan-tastic. o_O

It doesn't hurt anything but... gods I wish they hadn't called it Ash-Greninja. He's not in the games, I pray he never ENTERS the games (unless he can be a constant source of free money by constantly kicking his ass in battle).

...Seriously tho it also hella dumb looking. Why would a bond with it's non-ash trainer turn it into an ash-based pokemon.

In ORAS when doing the Shiny Beldum event with Steven he references Alain (boy with black charizard) and the event with rayquaza and the megalith.

I don't think Ash will be in the game, but maybe it will be implied this is Ash's Greninja? He might be leaving Ash Greninja in the anime as hinted in the next episode title, so maybe it will link into the games, a boy with a Pikachu left this Greninja, it picks it's trainers blah blah blah it picked you!

I don't think Ash will be in the games. I think this is probably just a nice little acknowledgement of the anime - the games have referenced the anime before, and it is the anniversary after all. The anime put a lot of work into making the franchise a success so, you know, give 'em some credit. :p

Anyway, it looks pretty cool! I'm guessing there might still be a signature Z-Move for it though, for that Giga Shuriken Break.

I'm so happy with this info!! I'm so glad Satoshi-Gekkouga will be in the games, and I don't mind the 'Battle Bond' ability being the way to get it there.. does this mean it will regain Protean in the form or stay with Battle Bond? I hope for the former.

I also love that it's what we'll be going through the demo with, it's actually a nice smooth transitioning for my mind if that makes sense lol. Greninja is one of my favourite Pokémon and I'm very happy to see it included in these games!

Shame that it only goes into Ash-Greninja mode after it already KO'ed an opponent. It better have good stats to at least make some use of Water Shuriken.

Honestly I'm glad "Z-forms" are not a thing. I prefer Ash-Greninja being a one-time event transformation rather than part of a new redundant mechanic. It still seems very out of place in the games though. Like, does Ash even exist in the games? And why does it take after Ash's appearance when he's not even its trainer?

Well now, I'm in the full roleplay mood for Sun and Moon. XD

Litten, Pikipek and Ash-Greninja.

Kinda strange to have a fully evolved Pokemon right at the start though.

Maybe in the game universe, Ash was the Trainer who existed hundreds of years ago and first achieved the Bond Phenomenon. :p

The games implied Alain exists in the gameverse so I'm perfectly content with Ash existing in the games as well lol, even if it's just a passing reference.

I wonder if this is demo only or if you'll also be able to get it in the full game? Either way I'll definitely get the demo now.

Would like for Z-forms to still be a thing but like someone mentioned in the rumors thread it's possible other Pokemon might have Battle Bond.

Maaaaybe. But why is his Greninja still alive? Perhaps Ash transferred some of his life energy into Greninja by bonding with it, which caused its ability to change. This new ability was then passed down to its descendants, one of which we receive in the demo. There, there's nothing some headcanon can't fix. :p

Definitely in the full game. They wouldn't promote it otherwise. The whole point is as a bonus for playing the demo - "Download the demo and transfer this cool special Greninja to your game!"

Ash's Greninja in the anime isn't the same one that achieved Bond Phenomenon in the distant past, so I don't see why that'd have to be the case here. Your description is vastly more likely.

It probably is the same Greninja, the trailer implies you get it as a Greninja. The theory about Ash's energy lingering inside is a good one. Unsure if it will be passed down by breeding or not.

Actually, scratch what I said. Just saw this bit on the official site: "A Poké Ball containing a Greninja from a certain someone."

I mean, it sort of makes sense. If there's a parallel version of Alain in the games, as suggested by ORAS, then it's not really a big surprised that there's a parallel version of Ash, too. And there were those movie cameo characters in Platinum.
