Ash in the future: elite 4 or gym leader

Hi all. I am sorta new here and I've been meaning to ask this for a while. Obviously this wouldn't happen until way in the future after the series ends and everything but if Ash ever became a gym leader or elite 4 member what do you think his focus type would be?

Ash has multiple fire/grass/water/flying pokemon as well as a very strong Pikachu. I think he could be a great elite 4/gym for any of these types but I want to say he would make a very mean fire trainer mainly because of his infernape and Charizard, but you can't count out his others either. And no matter what he can round off his team with his pikachu I bet as well (why wouldn't he, no rule says its exclusive one type, just a focus I guess). What are all your thoughts?

Hope I didn't offend his water or grass pokemon fans , haha.
 
Frontier Brain, no sticking to one type...
But since he's forever 10 then no, he'll continue to travel forever, he just can't stay at one place and be stuck there like Gym Leader / Frontier Brain / whatever else... he'll always want to go to more regions, find out more Poké, meet more friends and challenge himself more and more
 
Personally, I agree that a Fire type specialist would be suitable for Satoshi to specialise in if he ever wanted to go down that route. Lizardon, Magmarashi, Cotoise and Goukazaru and quite varied. There's a flyer, Magmarashi having mostly special attacks, a defensive Pokémon and a physical attacker. Two of them have put up decent fights against legendaries, and the other two have an impressive number of gym wins.

Not gonna lie, I loled there. That would be such a huge slap in a face to them :p
 
And this is really in the realm of possiblity in the future if ash ever decides to settle down and stay in one spot. He was offered a frontier brain spot,I thought that was a big deal.
 
- He will be the new Gym Leader of Viridian City.

- He will take the offer of Scott, being a Frontier Brain.

- A champion-in-training, being a student of Alder due winning the Elite four but it didn't win against Alder.
 
I think he'd make a better grass-type specialist, if he'd be e4 or gym leader. Because of you know, his Sceptile that managed to defeat a fucking Darkrai.

Plus he'd actually have a full team with grass. Bulbasaur, Bayleef, Sceptile, Torterra, Snivy and Swadloon.
 
I think he'd enjoy being a Gym Leader, and he would have no specific type.
 
If he was a Fire-type specialist, he wouldn't use Pikachu. Not that I would mind.

Yeah, this is what I want to believe too; so from the options you presented, he'd be more fitting as an E4 member. but his rightful place is as Champion

However, why go through all that trouble?...he already has the opportunity to become a frontier brain whenever he feels like it.
 
Like it's been said previously...he won't stay at any one location. He'll never stop traveling.
 
I don't think Ash would ever really focus on one type but if he did I think he would do best as an Elite four member with a focus on flyer types since he could put together a diverse and strong team of six in this case.
Charizard- can use fire, dragon, steel and fighing type moves and is by far his strongest pokemon
Gliscor- unaffected by electricity and has a wide diversity of moves
Staraptor- Fast and powerful with moves like Bravebird and close combat
Swellow- Incredibly strong, has very rarely been in a battle where he didn't take down at least one opponent.
Noctowl- has powerful psychic moves to go along with its flying ability
Heracross- although its not a flying type, heracross does have the ability to fly and could count in that respect (in the games bertha focused on ground types but had a sudowoodo which is purely rock)
