Myself i think Ritchie is mega cool, thought simular to Ash he shows more of a serious side to him? What do you think?

We all know who kicked ass in the anime when they battled.

Ritchie is cool even though Ash is the main character <3

Yeah, but Ash only lost because of Charizard.

Richie's fault was that he relied on a lot of the standard Kanto 'cute' Pokémon, such as Charmander and Butterfree. (A bad move in a major tournament.) But now that he has Charmeleon and Pupitar, he has a lot of potential.

One thing is for sure, Richie is certainly more intelligent than Ash! He showed that in "The Mystery is History".

Yes, i agree that he needs more of a variable team and to extend his team with some newage pokemon. But Kanto pokemon never fail.

It's not that they are from Kanto, it's just that they were picked purely for popularity, (Ash had a Charmander and Butterfree at one point, and of course still has Pikachu.) Now when he returned with Charmeleon and Pupitar...that was a different story!

Ash > Richie.

I don't like blatant clones, not to mention Ash would have beaten Richie had Charizard obeyed him.

Richie is extraordinarily boring. He was essetially the "perfect" Ash. Somehow he was inexplicably better than Ash in the Indigo League despite: (1) Having the same pokemon as Ash, and (2) Having the same battling style. I honestly don't remember Richie doing anything more intelligent then Ash would during their battle.

Besides, aside from the occasional slip-up Ash is pretty intelligent these days. The only times he really acts like a dumbass is when the writer intentionally want him to lose. Then he goes from uber battle genius to "duh, normal type attacks work on ghost on types..."

Having said that, In the most recent Houso with Ritchie, he is portrayed as being actually human. But still he's essentially just Ash drawn slightly differently.

I think that Richie is basically the game version of your char in R/B (design-wise). In Yellow, Ash looks more like his anime counterpart than in the other two.

Funny how Richie's clothes were more or less based off of Ash's Kanto clothes. I guess it was done to make them match.

But now that Ash wears new clothes in Advance, Richie and Ash don't match each other anymore. They look completely different now, as oppossed to them looking similar back in Kanto.

I like Ash a lot more than I like Richie.

It's a very good thing that they did not give Richie a new outfit to be a 'match' to Ash's, because that would have made me want to kill the writers. >/ At least they're not making it completely obvious anymore that Richie is an Ash clone. =/

I'm also very happy that they gave Richie a Pupitar back in Johto. At least they TRIED to make them different at least. They could have easily given him one of Ash's Johto pokemon, but decided not to. Although, I think it was a pretty stupid thing that they gave him a Taillow just like Ash as well. >/

The Pupitar still is a clone-sih thing considering Ash took care of Larvitar =/

I still believe in my theory that Richie is there to show how boring Ash would've been given he was a Pokémon know-it-all. A little "See how boring the show would be if the main character was Richie" kind of thing if you may.

Nonetherless, Richie is boring to me.

Ash takes care of Larvitar later, but Richie uses Pupitar in battle, and still has it, (as far as I am aware.)

In "Oaknapped", Richie even admits to being an Ash clone!

i really dislike richie. hes cardboard to me, and i dont think i would be able to tolerate his constant perfection

He does? When? What'd he say, exactly? :O *wants to see how Richie admitted his crime*

Richie bored me. How is someone who's a clone of the main character(minus flaws) supposed to interest people, other than being shot/thrown from a cliff/brutally mauled? Heck, how'd he get that far in the Kanto league with a BUTTERFREE and a CHARMANDER as two of his main Pokemon?
