Ash has been travelling on his journey to become a pokemon master for a long time now, and I know many fans have comments on his actions, so it raises the question:
Do you think you could have done better?

Basically, this topic is saying if you were a character in the Anime, do you think you would have done a better job?

If you were Ash, would you have woken up eariler and gotten squritle, or would you have slept in even later and got a pidgey? Would you have already beat the pokemon league and cleared through the battle frontier? Would you have left all your pokemon when you went to Hoenn? What Pokemon whould you have? Do you think you would have made friends with the same people, or would there be different characters in the series most likely fallow you? (Joining team rocket? Fallowed by Duplica?)

Basically try to keep it as realistic to your personality as possible, you would know if you would have made out with Misty already or kicked her out of your group.

Also if you want to give an interpertation on what would happen if you were other characters is good too like would it be different if I were May? Would I be a father several times over if I was Brock What If I was Jessie or James? Meowth? even what if I was Pikachu?

I have this topic here because its about the Anime and not the games, please take into consideration of the more chaotic nature of the Anime Battling :p (Also, I don't think this is shipping, its more of what you do in their shoes)

I can't imagine a boy wanting to get a pkmn so much that he overslept. A real boy in his situation would have been in his bed awake by 3am. I do agree with Ash's reason to go it alone in Hoenn, though. Maybe he thought that his failures were due to his constant reliance on his "we're not the most powerful, just lucky" team. I would have trained more. Personally, I would have researched my opponents on the Net, like one kid did in an episode I forgot the title to. I would have trained my pokemon the Orange Islands way (where the focus is less on battling than improving stunts and exercises) ... from the beginning.

If I were Ash, I would have swapped Totodile for Squirtle in the match against Harrison, and used Bayleef against Sneasal in order to have Squirtle take down Houndour (or was it Houndoom?) and either take out or severely weaken Blaziken.

I would have gone back for Pidgeot.

That's pretty much it. XD

Ash was so excited that he couldn't sleep. That is why he ended up oversleeping.

That said, unless there is something to Pikachu that we don't know about, if I was Professor Oak I wouldn't prepare three Pokémon when I knew that four trainers were coming to pick one up.

If I were a character in the anime, Brock would...

... oh, you can probably all finish that sentence already.

If I were in Ash's shoes, specifically, I'm not sure if I would've made it past the first movie, to be honest. The stuff he did that ended up resolving the conflict were all things I probably wouldn't do.

Lol, that's a really good point. I guess Oak was trying to inspire the kids though competition... or maybe some random smoe came by needing a Pokemon and Oak just gave it to him because he thought Ash wasn't coming!

I'm not sure at 10 I could have handled the out-on-your-own thing nearly as well, but if we set this in the Pokemon world, it seems a lot less hostile and intimidating.

That said, it's hard to look back and see. I've always had determination; that wouldn't have been a problem. And at that age, I would have fought Team Rocket solely on a good vs. evil level, like Ash does.

Yeah, I definitely agree with you there Pie. ^^

And of course, that just proves how brave Ash really is. :)

Anyway though, I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this. But if there was anything I would do (that Ash has also done), I would definitely get turned into a Pikachu. And yes, I am obsessed with that episode and I probably like it way too much, lol. XD

Anyway, seriously though, who wouldn't want to get turned into some kinda Pokemon - no matter which one it was? That is just so awesome, and I'm sure many people would enjoy it (of course it would be really weird too, but still, it's so cool). XD

*has an odd obsession with anything involving transformations*

Improssible to tell. I probably would have done nothing, goofed off, and still never needed to work a day. And for that, fans would probably hate my guts. But the Pokemon world is set up such that doing such a thing works.
