We all know that despite what the anime says, there is no way Ash is 10. What are your thoughts on Ash's age?
I'm thinking he's around 16.
He was 10 years, 10 months, and 10 days when he started. In Battle of the Badge it was stated that it was about a year later (this was only in the dub, but it makes sense). So he'd be at least 11. And then going from the final badge to the Pokémon League, through the Orange Islands, and some of Johto would be another year, making him 12 years, 10 months, and 10 days at the time of the Pikachu short which was included in Pokémon 3: The Movie (where it was stated to be the anniversary of him meeting Pikachu, which I believe to be their second anniversary). Anyway, I conclude that each region (besides the Orange Islands) takes over a year to go through (with the Orange Islands taking less than a year), which adds up to possibly three years at the beginning of Hoenn (which I think was even stated in an episode). So going by this pace, it'd be four years at the beginning of Sinnoh, and five years at the end of it. Which, rounding to the exact day Ash started his journey, would make Ash 15 years, 10 months, and 10 days at that point. Then there was the Battle Frontier which I have no idea how long it took him, but say it took a few months... that would make Ash about 16 at the start of Unova.
