Ash’s biggest battle blunders

This is mainly about all of the goof ups that Ash had made in Pokemon battles. Which mistakes do you think cost him the most? Which mistake was the dumbest mistake that you have ever seen? This is not meant to offend anyone especially the major Ash fans.

One of my top picks would be his uncanny ability of forgetfulness when it comes to normal and ghost type Pokemon. For some reason he would forget that Normal or physical attacks don’t have an affect (unless you use Odor Sleuth or Foresight). Namely I am referring to his matches against Brandon and Agatha. My favorite of the two would be Brandon because Charizard was on a major comeback to beat Dusclops and the fool calls out for Seismic Toss and then Dusclops disappears to launch a finishing Shadow Punch.

Now, if you watch this match Ash says a line that I will never forget when Dusclops disappears; “Oh no, I forgot!” The look on Pikachu’s face is priceless!!!!

His greatest loss in my book would be the full battle with Paul at Lake Acuity, he lost while only defeating 2 of Paul’s Pokemon. The main reason for losing was trying to show off to Paul in order to make him respect his strategy. Now in the SL, it seems that Ash is battling the way he should have by using his head.
 
Out of all his mistakes, I think his uncanny ability to ALWAYS forget that Electric attacks do nothing to Ground types is his biggest blunder.

When will he learn...

Because sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Its much more consistent since DP.
 
Do you really want us to name each of a=Ash's mistakes, we could be here awhile. But honestly, that Seismic Toss thing was disgraceful.
 
Not just having Charizard use Seismic Toss against Dusclops, but starting with Charizard in the first place. Charizard is supposed to be Ash's finishing Pokemon. Seeing him battle Regice would have been epic, but...
 
I agree--Ash forgetting that Fighting moves didn't do anything to Ghosts was priceless (especially against Brandon). What about his battle against Ritchie in the Indigo League (sending in Charizard, thinking he can win with it, even though he knew it would disobey him).
 
Anyone else realise that for some reason Volkner's electric type attacks actually work on Ash's Torterra I was like LOL. And most definitely what in the world was he doing with Charizard during tthe Bradon battle.
 
Telling Heracross to hide behind a rock to avoid a Hydro Pump. Seriously, why?
 
When Donphan appeared in the PL battle against Conway, all it used was Rollout. No wonder it fainted.
 
When Ash commanded Turtwig to tackle a BIG WHEEL OF FLAMES which Turtwig is WEAK to. Real smart Ash!
 
In the Richey battle, using Charizard was a mistake. It ended up fallling asleep and was disqualified. I always hated watching that battle just because it was pathetic.
 
Using Chikorita against Hoothoot in the Falkner battle. Lucky Charizard was there to save Ash's butt.
 
I'd say when he battled Kenny's Empoleon with his Buizel, after listening to Flint tell him about a certain battle strategy, Ash tries it and thinks it will work to his advantage, but fails.

That's not really a blunder. He was trying something he saw an Elite do to strengthed his battled style, but was not used to it yet so he lost.

Charizard vs Dusclops takes the cake.
 
ash HAD to use charizard vs. ritchie

squirtle and pikachu fainted
pidgeotto was exhused
bulbasaur had a mojor type disatvantage

he was gonna loose any way. he just lost without putting up a fight

That was just full of wtf! Also full of WTF: Quilava vs Armaldo being 30 seconds OHKO, and ending in a tie. Quilava needs redemption after that, a great battle lasting a while and he wins!

I gotta say, every battle with Team Rocket mechas! Ash never learns that they're always gonna make their mechas electric proof and tells Pikachu to use thunder bolt anyway.

Then using Charizard vs. Ritchie
