Ashs Buizel vs Cilans Pansage

Pansage has type advantage, solar beam and dig. Buizel has counter shield and Ice punch. If I had to pick one, Pansage. But honestly, I think It could be a draw
 
I would say a Tie maybe but I do not know because they are both Strong.
 
Buoysel was shown to be quite the strong battler back in DP, while Yanappu was never shown to be that strong. In fact, Dent's powerhouse and main battler was shown to be Iwapalace instead. It is true that Yannapu has the type advantage, but we all know how little a type advantage matters in the anime. I am having a hard time picturing Buoysel losing against Dent's signature Pokémon, I can see Buoysel winning without much effort with one or two Ice Punches, actually.
 
Buizel would win over Pansage easily, but Cilan can come up with hard strategies. But as he do not know about countershield I will say that Buizel wins.
 
Pansage loses.
Crustle loses
Srunfisk loses

Buizel is strong enough to solo cilan. Especially in the rain.
 
Buizel. Not because of the counter shield, but due to it's power and Ice Punches. In fact, I'd be surprised if Ash even remembers what a counter shield is.

Crustle is strong to and both Stunfisk and Pansage have type advantages. Add on Cilans trainer skills. No Buizel would not solo Cilan. Not even in the rain.
 
Well, Buizel's moves are super effective on all of Cilan's Pokemon, and only Pansage and Stunfisk have SE moves, being Solarbeam and Thunder Shock. Cilan is strong and all, but when it comes to type match ups he's never really had a way to counter them. One of the good things about Ash I guess you could say.

He may not be able to take out all 3, but certainly two.

Pretty much what Mr. Palpitoad mentioned. (setting aside my likeness for Buizel over Pansage - won't use for my opinion). Ice Punch would be super effective on Pansage's grass type. I also believe that Buizel has had more battling experience than Pansage (I very rarely saw it in battle) has had, so I believe that Buizel is much stronger.
