What do you think might happen if Ash's Charizard, Heracross, Sceptile and/or Glalie refused to Mega Evolve, wanting to resist their Mega Evolutions?

I don't see any of them mega evolving at all. But not because they would refuse.

Its more because Ash does not possess those stones and is unlikely too. After all, mega evolution is not a big part of Sun and Moon series. I don't see why they would bring back one of Ash's older pokemon for the purpose of mega evolution.

I would love to see Ash's old pokemon being used again, with or without mega evolution. But i am not optomistic. The writers have ignored his oldies since Sinnoh. I has been almost 8 years since Sinnoh ended.

Ash is too much of a nice guy to force Mega Evolution without consent of his Pokémon.

I don’t think Ash's Charizard, atleast, would refuse Mega Evolution since it’s whole arc was wanting to get stronger, and Megas do exactly that.

But I don’t think Megas will happen for Ash in this series since they're not in great focus. XY was a missed opportunity to give Ash Mega Charizard Y instead of Not-A-Mega-Greninja. And Charizard's return in XY instead of BW would have had much more significance other than being nostalgia bait.

What I mean is that Ash would not use Mega Evolution without asking permission of his Pokémon. You know he puts the concern of his Pokémon above his own. Of course, it's hard to imagine Charizard rejecting Mega Evolution. But perhaps he wants to show Alain that Charizard doesn't need Mega Evolution to be badass...because Ash's Charizard is Mega Evolution!

I personally find it very hard to believe that Ash's Charizard would refuse Mega Evolution. (In fact I can imagine Charizard asking Ash for it...), and combined with Alain finding a Mega Stone which suspiciously looked like Charizardite Y in the Mega Evolution specials...

I think Ash and Mega Charizard Y were considered at some point but dropped in favour of Not-A-Mega-Greninja.

After getting the Z Moves, I don't think that there is a possible for having any Mega Evolution for Ash

AND this opinion also come from the episode between Ash with Z move against Misty with Mega Evolution

But, if I want a one, then I want a New Mega Evolution for Krokodile, then Ash get it

Ash used Charizard in BW.

But seriously, Ash needs to get himself a keystone and a megastone. Charizard would be the best candidate since its his only pokemon that he usually recalls.

Heracross plz

Or just give Heracross more screentime, doesn't even have to be Mega.

I'd laugh my head off if after years of fans waiting for Ash to use a Mega, his first Mega Evolved Pokemon goes crazy a la Mega Lucario. Sorry, I just loathe Megas; I still have nightmares from the daily "Which Mega will Ash get?" debates circa 2013-2016.

I can't see why any of those Pokemon would want to refuse Mega Evolution, especially Ash's Charizard. It would want to get stronger and Mega Evolution was never really treated in the same way as regular evolution in the sense that some Pokemon would refuse to do it. The notion of Pokemon refusing to evolve does make sense given how drastically a Pokemon changes through evolution and being comfortable as they are would make sense too. Given that Mega Evolution is basically a stronger temporary form, I don't see Pokemon having the same kind of issues with it as they do with regular evolution.

I could expect Heracross and Glalie not being very keen on the idea for certain reasons (Mega Heracross's high body temperature and Mega Glalie's frozen jaw, both of which I'm sure Ash wouldn't knowingly inflict on them), but Charizard and Sceptile's Mega Evolutions haven't been given any of those detailed physical or mental drawbacks. Theirs seem much safer for the Pokémon from what we know.

I don’t think Ash would be aware of those drawbacks of Mega Galalie and Heracross before he has tried their Mega Evolution atleast once. The Ash I know wouldn’t know what Mega Glalie or Heracross look like till he has his own or some CotD shows it off.

But I still think Charizard is (was?) the most likely candidate for Mega Evolution, and I think Charizardite Y was considered for Ash, since Alain found one in the specials.
