Ash's fire type this time?

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but this is a little interesting considering the shortage of fire types this generation. Ash has always had a Fire type every generation, but Hikozaru is taken, Hiidoran is out of the question, so that leaves Buuburn. If he gets that, he'd probably catch it as a Magby/Magmar first. But I don't see him getting that.

Instead they could either have him train one of his old ones *coughCyndaquilcough* or make him get an old one he's never had before... like Slugma or Houndour. The latter would be awesome.


What do you think?
 
I think they shouldn't give him a fire type this time. Use that space for a Dootakun!
 
I want Ash to have strong dark-type Pokémon finally (yes, I'm fan of dark type Pokémon). Ash deserve it. But, if it must be fire-type, then I beg writers to give him Houndour.
 
Deserves it? Like, I don't get what the big deal with Dark types are.

He has slim picking with those too.
 
Yes, deserve. For the whole two Anabel episodes I pray Corphish evolved and Ash finally get the strong dark type which kicked Anabel's Psychic Pokémon's ass. But no, they instead let Pikachu his next hard to believe win. Ash really deserve something effective against Psychic and Ghost type Pokémon.

And what you mean by slim picking?
 
As in, we don't have many choices for Dark type's in 4th Gen Region, and it's unlikely Ash will get an older Pokemon.

We only have Drapion, Mikaurage and the skunks.
 
And why he can't have old Pokémon? I don't see any reason.
And we have Waevile too ;-). So I will not be surprised when Ash catches a Sneasel.
 
It's the start of a new generation so obviously the new Pokémon are going to be featured.

I was pleased when Aipom seemed to break the rule near the end of AG but even that will lead to an evolution later on.
 
I thought it was pretty obvious Aipom would be getting an evo when he caught it in BF so late...

Now, him getting Phanpy back was surprising.
 
I think he might find and catch a wild Buuburn. If you look at some of his other catches it doesn't seem that farfetched.
 
I'm leaning toward him getting a Magmar *shiny Magmar plz* (or Magby), mostly to emphasis the evolution process like they did with Politoed (disregarding the trading portion of the deal).
 
I'm waiting on Magby. Since that's his only choice, really.

Actually, they counted "giving it to Nurse Joy" as a trade. ; )
 
You know, since Gary has an Elekible, why shouldn't Ash get a Buuburn? I mean, if they already bothered with reviving that little rivalry...
 
It's more that Shinji has a Elekid, so Ash getting a Magby would work quite nicely...

BUT, I hope they break tradition and mix up his team.
