Pretty much which of ashs pokemon in your opinions do you believe is the weakest, and or worst overall. Anything from character, compatibility, growth, overall strength, win ratio, and other factors apply.

In my opinion, oshawatt takes the cake, his character isn't compatible for ashs team at all, more like one may/dawn would have. He never evolves along with many of ash other pokemon in unova, becuase his 2nd/3rd stages aren't popular along with all the unova starters except maybe seperior.

His growth is almost nonexistent, pre/post league, losing and having diffuculty against most opponants he comes across due either to his lack of strength, or comedic attitude in combat. His victorys come across as contrived rather then legit for the most part, and you just end up wishing it was palpitoad battling instead eventually.

Did I mention he never replaced tackle attack....he evetually learns powerful moves such as aqua jet, hydro pump, and razor shell but never another to replace tackle attack. Not even for the pokemon league -__-

As far as types go I think it may be a fact that oshawatts the weakest of ashs water types.

I agree, I won't say Oshawott is the weakest but definitely the worst. Mostly due to the attitude he shown in almost every episode.

Can't give example or mods can give me infractions simply because they can deem whatever i say 'touch subject'.

Disclaimer: Only saying this because I usually give elaborated reasoning to back my point, so if you were looking foward for it by all means, sorry.

I think Waninoko may be his weakest, since it's one of the unevolved starters he's got with a poor moveset. Mijumaru and Tsutarja got pretty nice and strong moves for instance.

Other than it, Kentaros, Betbeton and Kenhallow are all weak too I think, all of them have boring movesets and haven't participated in many battles yet...

My 3 weakest Pokemon are either Unfezant, Torkoal or Totodile. Unfezant is only around level 17 because it's strongest move is Air Cutter which she learns at level 15 and she lost to a Riolu which caused me to lose at the Unova league. Also, Totodile while also being unevolved, his strongest move is Slash which he learns at level 35 back in gen 2. Totodile was used in only one of my Johto gym battles and was not trained as much as Pikachu, Heracross, Bayleef, Noctowl* and Bulbasaur during my adventures in Johto. Torkoal could also be one of my weakest Pokemon but not because it's undertrained. I had Torkoal with me for a long time in Hoenn and during the Battle Frontier and he got a great amount of experience in the process I would say he is around level 54. As my main fire-type Pokemon in Hoenn, he was outshined by other fire-type Pokemon I have raised such as Charizard and Infernape and he lost a lot of battles because he doesn't have much speed and cried a lot for no reason.

Turtwig as soon as it evolved. Almost never won another battle.

Fletchling until it evolved. Pikachu pretty much did all the heavy lifting in both of Viola's battles.

Charmander in terms of character development. As soon as it evolved into Charmeleon, it became disobedient, lazy, and violent which I find rather messed up considering Ash and Brock saved its life and opened its eyes as to how much of a jerk its original trainer is.

Torterra as a Torterra. Grotle still gave some great showings against Candice and Palmer, but then things suddenly went to shit when it evolved further. Name me one other Pokémon of Ash's that's so consistently failed to deliver. It's almost unrecognisable today as the Turtwig that triumphed over Roark's Rampardos.

I found this picture. Don't know how accurate it is though.

For me, it's a tie between Oshawott and Totodile. Neither of them have any impressive wins and both have some pretty noticeable losses. If I had to choose between the two, I'd choose Oshawott simply because all of his character development from the Scalchop episode went out the window at the end of the episode when he was cradling it like it was his lost child, and later when he lost it while battling against Cheren, losing the battle because he couldn't remember how to fight without it. Totodile was weak and he was not serious about battling, mostly shown by how he liked to dance more than battle, but he did not have an incident like Oshawott, or Oshawott's personality, where he would act tough until challenges actually came. Then he would retreat and push out another Pokémon to take on his opponent.

Don't know why people harp on Totodile so much. It beat Granbull in M03, Kingdra in the Whirl Cup, Jessie's Charizard at the battle park, and Harrison's Sneasel in a re-match. Not much by any means, but not this disaster like it's perceived. And why do people want him to evolve? He's awesome as a Totodile and his personality with the dancing is the best.

And that 0% for Lapras and Pidgeotto above is debatable.

It seems to be from before the league as it gives Goodra a perfect win rate while Noibat isn't evolved, so it seems to be pretty outdated.

Personally though, I'm a bit iffy on charts like these since it ignores the amount of battles those Pokémon had and the type of battles they had. For instance, Goodra's 100% win rate looks impressive at first glance, but once you consider that it only had two trainer battles before the league (Tierno and Clemont) it becomes pretty apparent that its status is completely inflated relative to the other Pokémon who've been around for longer and had many more battles under their belts.

and what if we count only official gym and league battles?
We should have more statistics about battles in every generation.

Torterra, hands down. A Pokemon should NOT be a bigger loser fully evolved than in its first form!
Imagine if Froakie, Charmander, Chimchar, and Treecko (among others) having more losses than wins in their 2nd forms, then to losing EVERY battle after their final evolutions. That's just wrong.

Runner-up: Noivern for similar reasons, plus having even less development & personality. Turtwig/Grotle/Torterra at least had 4 years of development. XY was a little over halfway done when Ash got Noibat AND it didn't get to do much.

After that, it's several of the Isshu Team. Not gonna name names, but precious few of them impressed.

Though let's go a little easy on the Tauros herd. Remember: the writing team never really intended to use them. They were caught for the sake of a joke ("Ha-ha-ha! Satoshi caught a bunch of the same kind of Pokemon without meaning to! Ha-ha-ha!") and later the running gag about them stampeding & (non-fatally) trampling fools.

Noveirn did tie with Sawyers Salamence. Its not the best pokemon or anything but i wouldn't rank it as the weakest either.

Scraggy, Oshawatt, Snivy for me. Though most of the Unova team was highly uninspiring.

Ash’s worst Pokemon? His Glalie. Yes, Ash did get a Glalie. Nobody remembers it much at all, and for good reason. Since all it really did was battle in Ever Grande. Didn’t even use it in the Battle Frontier.

Maybe it's just me, but Ash's Glalie and Paul's Froslass made this line one of the better Hoenn (maybe Sinnoh, too) ones around.
I think they were trying to replicate Muk with Glalie, or a Charizard with ice instead of fire.
