Ash's Pokédex

Since when has Ash's Pokédex had a female voice? I just noticed that it was different in DP062 and then I looked back and noticed it was a female voice in DP049. I was thinking about adding it to Theryguy's anime dex project.

I'm pretty sure it's been switching between male and female voices each time Ash gets a new pokedex..

I don't remember a male voiced one since Johto.

Dexter is the "male Pokédex voice", while Dextette is the "female Pokédex voice". Dexter is provided by Eric Stuart or Bill Rogers, IIRC, while Michele Knotz and Rachel Lillis voices Dextette.

Ash has had Dexter for the entirety of the Original Series, and switched to Dextette for Hoenn. Dexter returned for Battle Frontier, but Dextette is now doing Sinnoh.

Oh, no. Don't you guys see? Ash has a gay relationship with Dexter but since he didn't want rumors flying around, Dexter kept getting a sex change!

Just kidding. It's a machine, there's no 'female' or 'male'.
