I still impressed with Subame he catched. Also I would choose Bulbasaur and Heracross. But Subame when he stand up against powerful electric attacks by Pikachu.. Man it was something!

In pure strenght- Snorlax... his other powerhouses (not counting Pikachu, but he constantly changes power leves,so...) were all caught in their first and second stages...

Subame? English please? This is an english forum

Battle records would show that crabby/Kingler was an unexpected powerhouse from the start. He's only lost one match against Mistys Psyduck.

Other than that, at the point of capture it would have to be snorlax like people say.

I think Bulbasaur is the strongest one. It was caught long time ago and gained a lot of experience. some of you mention Snorlax but although its strength is great, I think Bulbasaur would beat it in a direct battle,

No way it's gonna happen. Snorlax is too strong for Bulba.

In terms of actual capture and not just evolution, then Bulbasaur. Granted, Bulbasaur could have evolved but decided not to. It was able to tie with a fully-evolved Meganium and Solrock, as well as defeat a Magneton and a Dusclops. This is among others. Generally speaking, Bulbasaur is the strongest pokemon that he caught while in its level. Snorlax and Squirtle would be obvious second and third, respectively.

i would have to say that i agree that snorlax is 1 of ash's strongest pokemon because i was able to defeat the fast and strong medicham of a fronteir brain.

You know the thing that I really can't understand in Sinnoh is bad timing in battles from Ash. As we remember it was always his strong part. Remember battles in leagues, against brains and so on. And now remember bad timing against Paul in full battle and against Palmer. I just can't understand it.

Snorlax... yeah. But you have to admit, when he wanted to, Charizard had his moments.

If we are considering of all time, after training, after evolving etc etc

Charizard for sure, as we know it beat a legendary but not just any legendary, one it did have a weakness to (Ice>Fire), yes fire is also strong against ice but still IT WAS A LEGENDARY something only done by few other pokemon

Charizard has the strength, spirit and moves to take on anything

Yeah, but don't forget Charmander has not been caught after a normal battle (I don't know what thread's autor means, if we are considering all Ash's Pokemon - also those which haven't been caught after a battle)

No, no. I don't mean strongest pokemon Ash has now. It is no dubt Charizard who is far more powerful than other Ash's pokemon.

In this thread I meant strongest pokemon Ash caught or got in the start.

one it did have a weakness to (Ice>Fire)
Ice isn't effective against Fire.

As for the strongest he snapped up from the wild? Oh, geeze. I know it's mighty powerful and all, but I can't actually recall him even fighting Snorlax. Though it likely is the most powerful he caught fresh.

I do recall Buoysel and Taillow really gave him a run for his money, especially impressive since they were up against electric attacks.
