I have been watching alot of old episodes, and was wondering what everyone thought were Ash's most impressive victories so far. I want to try to limit it to ten battles. Here's mine:

1. Ash vs Paul- Sinnoh League
2. Ash vs Brandon 3- Battle frontier
3. Ash vs Gary- Johto League
4. Ash vs Katie- Hoenn League
5. Ash vs Anabel 2- Battle frontier
6. Ash vs Drake- Orange Islands
7. Ash vs Juan- Hoenn Gym battle
8. Ash vs Noland- Battle frontier
9. Ash vs Clair- Johto Gym Battle
10. Ash vs Spencer- Battle frontier

Hmmm.....I feel Ash vs Korrina could fit in here somewhere. bUT OVERALL i AGREE

I have to say I have nothing to add to this, this is a pretty decent list although I don't know about his win against Katie. I guess I'd need to re-watch the Ever Grande Conference to get a firmer idea about this battle :)

I would personally add Ash vs Volkner in there, because Volkner is my favourite Gym Leader and one of the few leaders (with Juan, Clair and maybe Korrina) who truly deserve this title, and he did manage to defeat him fair and square, shortly before moving on to the Lilly of the Valley Conference. Remember also that this match is what made Volkner get back into battling, a guy so strong in Sinnoh, he only considered the E4 (and the Battle Frontier, if I remember well) to be a worthy challenge for him!

But I still feel like some of his losses were even better than some of these wins:

- Ash vs Tobias: if he d been able to use the pokémon he d wanted he could have given Tobias a good run for his money. Consider his only strong pokémon in that match were Sceptile, Pikachu and maybe Heracross. But he didn't use Snorlax, Charizard, Bulbasaur or Squirtle, or any of his stronger Sinnoh pokémon (admittedly they must have been exhausted from battling Paul), so just imagine...

- Ash vs Tyson (Ever Grande): also a great battle, which I d personally rank as more thrilling than his battle against Clair or even Noland.

- Ash vs Palmer (Twinleaf Festival): it s only a 1-on-1 (Grotle vs Rhyperior), but his Grotle did surprise Palmer quite a bit and when overgrow activated even Rhyperior was surprised by how strong Grotle was.

These were simply memorable!

Good call on the Volkner battle. I missed that one, perhaps it can replace the battle against Spencer.

I feel like Katie is one of the most clever trainers Ash has ever encountered. Apart from her Walrein, her pokemon were not extremely strong but they were still relatively strong and she had alot of tricks up her sleeve, for example using destiny's bond to get rid of Glaile. This was also the first six on six league battle that Ash won using entirely new pokemon that Ash caught in that reigon without using any of his older Pokemon, except Pikachu.

Fully agree on the Tobias battle. Charizard and Snorlax should have been there, Ash might have even come close to beating him. Then again Tobais was a joke, he could have pulled out another 4 legendary pokemon out.

I half expected him to have an Entei in there... ô_O but to be fair to him, Ash did take on and defeat Articuno and Regice in the past.

I did like the battle against Spencer, that was his first real double battle if I remember correctly (might be wrong on this). and he did manage to outsmart him.

I just cant wait for Ash to challenge the Kalos League properly :D and maybe even surprise an E4, who we havent seen yet properly (except I think Wikstrom in a Special :/ )

Granted Ash has defeated legendaries in the past but it was one legendary per battle. He had a huge type advantage over Articuno and still barely won.

This is one of the reasons why i did not like the Paul vs. Brandon battle too much either. It was simply unfair on Paul. Brandon was using three legendaries in that battle, too much for anyone to overcome.

With Tobias, i would have no problem if his second pokemon was a strong non legendary like Gyrados or even a Metagross or Salamence. Instead we ended up with another legendary, it was just poor writing. It was great to see Sceptile taking down Darkrai though.

Ash vs. Winona, anyone? Altaria/Pelipper/Shiny Swellow ain't too bad of a lineup. Not to mention Grovyle doing well with its type disadvantage and Altaria being held to no KOs.
