GLASGOW, Scotland - In a new and worrying development in the arms race between Islamic radicals and the West, a hitherto unknown weapon was unleashed today at Glasgow Airport, the Weasel Times has learned.

A source in the British military, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the device as “some kind of sophisticated incendiary bomb. Self-propelled. Precision guided. Bipedal.”

The device apparently detonated prematurely, setting fire to the Lifestyles magazine rack and part of the self-help section at WH Smith. “Who knows what would have happened if this thing had kept going,” one witness remarked, “it weaved around a little, but, man, it was really going up good.” Fire crews are on the scene.

“We’re completely stymied,” the military spokesman continued, “This level of technical sophistication is simply unknown to us in the West. It’s a totally new class of munition.”

“God help us all,” he added.

Is it an attempted attack, or just an unsuccessful one? Seems like the accomplished what they could, just...didn't plan well. Maybe this the "special" division of Al Qaeda. The same one that spawned the attempted-shoe bomber. Of course, this is what Al Qaeda gets for relying on suicide bombers so much. Eventually, you just have these guys left.

Attempted and unsuccessful, in this context, are kind of the same thing, wouldn't you say?

These guys had clearly been watching too many movies though. Unlike in film, jerry cans of petrol don't explode all that well.

Apparently Al Qaeda has the same failing standards as American education.

My local papers ran some articles about self-radicalisation (people who go to extremist web sites and get brainwashed by them, then joins in with the terrorists), and how local authorities here have used their powers to hold one such person - without charge or trial, of course - here.

Maybe it's one of them behind these attacks. Maybe.

Or maybe not. Guess like terrorism is becoming more and more fragmented and decentralised - probably the result of going after the top and leaving the bottom to become independent terror cells.

I didn't find the actual Attack that Frightening...I am frightened about what the government might do...(brown has only been in office less than a week.)

Back in February I had a Burning car in the alleyway behind my house...and looking at the pictures...the car near my house burned More.

video taken two hours later.

Brown seems like he has a better head for this kinda stuff than Blair. I don't think he'll blow this out of proportion. New security legislation and the like are probably to be expected, but I don't think it'll be as strong as the whole "nail clippers are weapons" deal.

Pfft.

I lol'd the other day when I read Northern Ireland had been put on "critical terror alert". Stuff and nonsense. This is probably the safest country in the entire world from Al Qaeda - we'd just terrorise the bastards right back.

The 9/11 guys were the first stringers.

These guys are not.

Other examples of 'not-first-stringers would be the Fort Dix Six and the JFK plotters.

Only just noticed this, and I've got to say, I agree with the first post. We CAN take the piss out of anything. :p

If you'd been hear to see all the quiz shows in the week or so after, you'd realise that. xD All stuff such as "There was a doctor at the scene immediately. Unfortunately, he was on fire."

It's kinda stupid though, cos it wasn't really a smart attempt. 0o They didn't make it discreet or anything, they just rammed straight into the airport in their car. I mean, come on. Even a toddler could've killed more people.

Yes, that was distasteful. xd
