Autumn OU Group 4 - Challonge
FINALS:
The match for gold: @Alexey; v @-Glory Blaze-;
The match for bronze: @JustTheFx; v @BadAssGardevoir;
Tournament standings:
I figured that this place had no tournaments for quite a while now, so why the heck not
The tournament will start as soon as there are 16 participants and consists of two stages:
1) Group stage. Players will be randomly assigned into 4 groups of 4. Each participant will play once against every opponent in their respective group. Group standings are determined by a total number of points the players have (win = 3 points, loss = 0 points, if the players somehow manage to tie, they will be awarded 1 point each, but game mechanics prevent ties afaik). In case two players have the same number of points, the player who won the head-to-head match between the players has a higher position.
2) Final (knockout) stage. The winner of each group progresses to the semi-finals, which is single elimination. The winners of the semi-finals progress to the final, while the losers of the semi-finals play a match for the third place.
This is a Standard OU tournament, therefore all bans and clauses effective in Smogon OU tier are in effect for this tournament.
The rules for OU are:
If a participant is found to violate these rules he or she is disqualified from the tournament, the results of all the matches of the participant are nullified, and the player is either awarded three losses (Group stage) or is kicked out of the knockout stage with their opponent being awarded the win.
The battles can be held either on cartridge or on Pokemon Showdown. Showdown is considered the default platform due to having a semi-reliable system for preventing disconnections and not letting through most illegal sets (it also has genies and Kyurem and Mew and Heatrans and you can have more than one Eviolte without cloning/playing through games multiple times etc). This means that, should the players fail to agree on whether the match is to be held on cartridge or on Showdown, the match is to be held on Showdown.
Players are not restricted to using the same team throughout the tournament.
After the match both players are required to submit a replay of the match to this thread.
The prizes (because that's what Pokemon tournaments are for, right
) are:
1st place: Heracross, Jolly nature, Moxie, 31/31/31/x/31/31, Egg Move Rock Blast
2nd place: Starly, Jolly nature, Reckless, 31/31/31/x/31/31, Egg Move Double-Edge
3rd place: Porygon, Modest nature, Trace, 31/x/31/31/31/31
There will also be a prize for participation which all participants will get, but I have not yet decided what it will be.
So, sign up!

Tournament standings:

NOTE: the tie between Metabee and Apawn is decided based on head-to-head results as per tournament rules
The head-to-head results between the opponents are:

There is also a three-way tie between Life, Terra, and BAK, which requires me to calculate the ratio of preserved/fainted Pokemon, but as this is not relevant, I hope that you will excuse me for not bothering
