*insert nerdgasm here*

If news on this has already been posted, I'm sorry... but I've searched for quite a while, and I didn't find any sign of one that already existed.

I take back what I said about looking for a new show to watch.... I might actually check this out. The whole anti-bending thing and what seems to be almost like a superhero-type show (with the crime-fighting that Korra has to do, I guess) has got me interested... and the fact that it's a spin-off of one of my favorite shows. That'd be really awesome if we could see some flashbacks and references to the original Airbender series.

I'm sure the steampunk elements will attract a lot of new viewers.

Personally, I'm just glad we get to see the fallout of Aang's defeat of Fire Lord Ozai since I never truly believed the entire Fire Nation would just willingly accept Zuko as their new leader and make peace with the world. I'm sure a few followers might just be the reason there's conflict among the inhabitants of this city, and maybe they're responsible for Aang's death as well.

OMG YES YES DO WANT!! God, this is awesome. Almost makes up for finding out that One Manga is closing down.

and maybe they're responsible for Aang's death as well.

I dunno. The creators seemed to imply that he died of natural causes in that interview.

Technically, the main characters in the group (Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko) would all be in their 80's... I wonder if any of the others might make an appearance in this series. Yes, I know Aang is dead... but I imagine that he might appear in a spirit form and help out Korra in a few ways, like how Avatar Roku would appear before Aang periodically.

Awesomeness!

If you read the interview, you can see that they hated the movie too, because they're trying to evade it! XD

Yay! 70 years and still traditional! Like Legend of Zelda!

Knowing about it since May makes me even more happ to find out Nick gave it the green light!

And who wants to see 80 ear old Sokka!!!

I am looking forward to this, as we now have a great sequel series to a great series in the works. I am really looking forward to exactly what happened to Aang for him to die so young. Tenzin should fill us in (really cool way to keep the airbender race alive)

Lets remember that whatever reasoning the fire nation took to make peace is probably over with as Aang could have still dealt with it. Zuko and Aang together brought peace, that is what the avatar does. As for it staying traditional, think of it as the future the people of the 20s saw. it is futuristic, but not as we would think. Steampunk is a huge advancement over the latest tech in that world, so something big took place.

Marvellous, ( Sarcasm ) lets hope this time the actors/actresses are Asian.

Dude its Animated so what does it matter
But anyways W00T Yes
But who will we see for sure?
Definitely not Bumi :bawl:

I knew about this fer awhole. Seems like Nick is going to have a good 2011 season, with Power Rangers and this.

This doesn't have anything to do with the live-action movie. It's a spin-off/sequel of the Airbender series. Like what was mentioned earlier, it's animated... so it seriously shouldn't matter.

I would have accepted anything to cleanse my palate after that nasty movie.

But... a new series?

My reaction was essentially

, then

, ultimately becoming
emot-swoon.gif
.

Yay! Mike and Bryan hated that God-awful movie too!

Anyways, this is awesome and I SO WANT TO SEE 80 YEAR OLD TOPH!

But it's going to be interesting, because this girl has already learned three elements....

EDIT: Also...

"Waaater tribe..."

...but wouldn't it be super short since she needs only one more element?

This spin-off can die faster than Metalocalypse's third season! o_O

I don't think having already learned three elements means that the series will be short. It just means that unlike Aang's story, this one isn't about learning the elements. It sounds like they're trying to do something different with this one.

I'm quite excited for this. I love the avatar universe, I love Mike and Brian's talent for storytelling, and I love steampunk. My main hope is that it can air in a reasonable amount of time, and not be screwed over by Nick.

Lawl at the Zutara stans in the comments of that article. Shippers are great for the luls.

It's times like this I sort of wish I had cable TV. Oh well :(

Thank the maker. Now we can all just forget about the atrocious live-action film and the dumbass who directed it, and enjoy a proper Avatar story.

Let's hope the creators get their wish and have the chance to make an animated big-screen sometime in the future, as well.
