Awesome capture and close calls, anyone?

This thread starts with a story, so bear with me:

Last night, I was playing my old copy of emerald, when I decided to pop by the weather institute. I saw that there were storms in route 129, and decided to go hunting for giant water beasts (nope, just kyogre). Anyhoo, as I apporached it, I didn't realise where the event started, and forgot 2 essential parts to catching legendaries: Saving and using stat affecting moves. Fortunately, after a few failed ultra balls while kyogre was down in the red, it used rest. I cut it's it's hp in half and captured it. First attemt at non-masterballing a legendary... without saving. Anyhoo there was much rejoycing (and saving).

What's your most epic capture?

Catching my 8 years old Zapdos in Leafgreen with my last pokeball in my bag.

In Fire Red I had tried capturing Zapdos about 15 or twenty times (this was before the E4), then one time I encountered it and it was shiny. I caught it within 10 Ultra balls. :lick:

When I was trying to capture Rayquaza in Pokemon Sapphire without a Master Ball, I kept going through all of my Ultra Balls. After several resets, I finally captured it in my final Ultra Ball. It took several hours and still is the best capture I ever made due to all the hard work it took to get it.

I also remember Rayquaza being difficult in Sapphire. I bought a ton of Timer Balls because that's how I got the Regi's, but Rayquaza didn't like that nonsense and broke them all. Fortunately I had some Ultra Balls left over and I got him in one of those, but I definitely panicked for a while.

I remember the legend trio in Hoenn being a B▒tch to catch. Let's hope this trend doesn't continue in OR/AS

Caught Kyurem in White with only one Pokemon left who was on its last leg

Super close call- accidentally attacked a shiny Moltres in FR (my first shiny!) and nearly killed it before remembering I still had the Master Ball. I only reset about 5 times before seeing it too, and only because I didn't remember to buy Ultra Balls; I was saving the Master Ball for Mewtwo.
