Hello.

First off, if this is the wrong section, I apologize. Moving on.

Okay, so a friend of mine (hi- friend) is trying to get onto the forums. He successfully signed up and has logged on (he's labeled as dragonrider) but no confirmation e-mail of any kind has been sent and he cannot access anything.

Help please.

This happened to me right after I registered, and I was inactive for like a month till after the redo on the forums, when I FINALLY got one.

Yes it's the right e-mail. But the thing is, he never got anything. We checked the spam folders. Nothing.

I'm 99.9% sure that another user is experiencing the same problem, as she/he said something about it on another board I think.

The exact same thing happened to me when I tried changing my e-mail. The confirmation e-mail was never sent to the new address.

That was back in December though, before the fiddling. =/

Just tried fiddling with the email again, giving it a full on SMTP account instead of using the internal PHP mail() function. Hopefully this will make a difference.

Missing notification e-mails

I have noticed that recently, I am not getting e-mail notifications for subscribed threads, PMs, or VMs. This has happened before where I have not visited in a while and so those e-mails cease. But I have been active enough in the last 2 or 3 weeks to warrant these e-mails. This issue seems to have started within the last month or so (I can't give an exact date). Any ideas or reasons why this would happen or how it can be fixed?

I do have all my notifications set to "Instant", so I know I should definitely be getting e-mails (and I have before), but I'm not now. And I know this is still a problem because I never got e-mails for 2 of my subscribed threads that have been updated since I visited last night.

Re: Missing notification e-mails

Our programmer is on a short holiday right now, but I'll get him to have a look at everything when he's back. It's almost certainly got something to do with the behaviour we noticed on the server back in December, when we were starting to run out of database space.

With any luck, the change I made on the forums earlier today should mean emails are now sent out properly.

Still trying to figure out why some people would be getting registration emails when others aren't though. =/
