My search for a Pokémon community has led me here, so good morrow and well met to you all. I've never been especially good at introducing myself, so listen if you will to my thoughts:

Everyone is more articulate in their heads. 'Tis why while my speech isn't quite so eloquent as I would like it to be, I enjoy typing this way.

I'm very pleased with YTV right now for adding Pinky and the Brain to the Friday night schedule. I have a certain appreciation for humour, especially that sort, and if I begin to post regularly (be forewarned, I rarely stay at message boards for a very long time), I'm sure that my witty remarks will astound you all. I'm also very humble.

Our taste in music can help to tell others something about ourselves. Unfortunately, most people seem to leave it at "I listen to everything," possibly followed by their respective lists, which, actually, are identical in most cases, making the whole thing moot. I fancy myself something of a connoisseur of music. Progressive metal dominates my playlist, but I like to think that I can recognize talent (and lack thereof) in most genres. The aforementioned lists normally include the phrase, "Except country and rap." You'll find neither on my playlist, but I do not condemn the genres on the whole. If anyone out there is interested, I'll name off a few of my favourite bands and musicians:
After Forever, Ayreon, Blackmore's Night, Clive Nolan, Dream Theater, Kamelot, Luca Turilli, Moi dix Mois, Opeth, Queensrÿche, Rhapsody of Fire, Shadow Gallery, Symphony X, Therion

As for Pokémon, which, of course, is what brings me here, this is what needs to be known:
• I own Red, Stadium, LeafGreen and Diamond.
• I've additionally played Silver and Ruby, the latter being my least favourite.
• My favourite type is Water.
• I love my Vaporeon, Symphony.
• I resent the existence of Bidoof.
• I do not use Rare Candies or Master Balls.
• I own a Mew. It was on my pre-owned Red version and it seemed a waste to erase it with the old file.
• I don't take interviewers seriously; I've told one, "Take It Easy Geodude".
• My Gyarados has won a Beauty Contest. Sorry, but that simple idea amuses me.

I suppose that's enough for now. Off I go to lurk.

Thank you for the welcome. I didn't realize that there was a member with such a similar name, though. As much as the confusion could potentially amuse me, perhaps it would be best to change my username.

O.O did I just look into a mirror? Honestly, I think that Gadfly has struck a rather nigh cord.

It's safe to say you may hold off on the name change. I don't
think Gadfly was thinking about the community confusing our
usernames. ^_^;;

So Squall it shall remain if you so choose,
but if you really want to change, then do as you wish.

But none-the-less, that is quite an impressive introduction,
no need to be so modest. I think you've stumbled on to a
great community and I'm absolutely sure you'll enjoy it here!

Perhaps I should have edited my post to explain, but I initially chose the username Raine, hence the confusion. Obviously, I've changed it since. Anyway, thank you for the welcome and compliments. My ego likes compliments.
