Not sure if this should be its own thread or incorporated into one of the many other threads but...

....I was randomly browsing Serebii and found this link: http://pokebook.jp/data/bw2/trainers.html

What do you make of this? There seems to be multiple people listed as Pokemon Trainer N specializing in one of four types (Water, Fire, Ground, Ice).

Consistent to what I've seen reported elsewhere, Unova leaders seem to have four Pokemon, with one extra not actually used in-game.

There is not much to make of unused data. The gym leaders' additional Pokémon are in order: Pidove, Grimer, Karrablast, Joltlik, Onix, Sigilyph, Altaria and Mantine. We know that Drayden and Shizui use Altaria and Mantine in the World Tournament, but this is different data. There is no connection to Challenge Mode, either, where only the levels are affected.

Cheren and Bianca's final teams (all three variations) from Black and White are also present for some reason.

^It's not just levels, there are a few roster differences in the E4 in Hard Mode

Could it be that they get 4 Pokemon to use when you play Hard Mode? Seems pretty likely to me. The E4 and Champion get slight roster changes between difficulty modes, so maybe for the GLs, they added a Pokemon.

^ Any actual proof that this doesn't happen for GLs as well? Have you played the Hard mode?

All the GLs except for Cheren apppear once, which may simply mean that he appears in a battle against the trainer a second time, the animated preview shows him with stoutland, when he is only the second gym leader. I saw the elite four twice, but saw Iris three times, when you challenge the elite four for a second time their rosters increase, which makes sense but not for Iris. Overall it seems like list of all the trainers in the game that you face, their pokemon, and their pokemons levels, and four elite four and other important trainers theirs the move-sets of their pokemon. Gen IV allowed rematched against Gym Leaders so maybe they brought that back. What I found interesting was that I saw Pokemon Trainer Dent/Cilan and he had a yankkie/simisage, but I didn't see Corn/Cress or Pod/Chili.

I haven't seen the data myself, but Serebii has said that Challenge Mode and Assist Mode merely take the standard teams and alter the levels. In contrast, the levels in the unused data are unchanged.

Then maybe it's primarily for the world tournament.

Re challenging gym leaders anyone? That was a good feature of HGSS they could have brought it back

Platinum did GL rematches a lot better, but it seems there isn't any GL rematches in B2W2, just World Tournament. Which is a shame, man. D:

^I'm actually quite fond of the Platinum/Emerald standard for re-challenging Gyms myself really...

But that aside: Oh, good a thread relevant to my question was made saving me a bit of search time: Since we're talking about trainer rosters, does this game have some method similar to Vs. Seeker or Trainers Eyes for us to re-match the overworld trainers?

Petty I know, but I just like seeing those guys make good on their willingness to get better and fight you again. Also means more things to do.

Serebii was wrong on that part and here's the updated teams: Pokémon Black 2 & Pokémon White 2 - Gyms

Now, I am still wondering about all those N's.

There ya go Silktree. Sorry to say it, but I told you so. Mwahahaha. :p

I'm glad that the GLs have challenge mode teams though, but I wish they had proper rematch teams like in Emerald. (if I remember correctly)

I wonder why the Challenge Mode teams don't have higher levels in the data. Apparently, the levels can vary, but never surpass the original levels by more than 5.

Huh, didn't know they could vary. I wish that we could just choose the difficulty at the begining of the game or something, because I would rather fight the stronger GLs. But since I'm going to be using about 8-10 pokemon in rotation for Black 2, maybe I should be happy that they aren't extremely difficult.

I'm wondering if the game actually assesses your progress and increases the levels accordingly.
