Background On Blog Comments

The background of blog comments always shows up as white, and there is no way to change this. As far as I know, you can't make the text and link color in comments different to that of the actual blog. Many different blogs have a white or gray text/link color, making it near impossible to read the comments without highlighting. Would it be a good idea to implement a feature to customize the background of blog comments?
