TL;DR, A short, unserious, D&D.

This type of RPG is similar to D&D, however it is a far shorter project, taking around a week, and no longer than 2 weeks.

The gameplay is that each player (going in no particular order, but only once per turn) will attempt an action. Actions can be anything from Persuasion to Lockpicking to Battling. The key part is that your success will be decided by a wheel on a scale of 1-20.

This project will include myself, and 3-5 other players.

Sign Ups: You may choose:
  • Up to 2 stats to increase & decrease
  • Game Theme Suggestion (or vote)
  • One tool you will bring (literally anything)
You get to add up to 2 points, adding 3 to each roll with that stat. You must also decrease the same number of points from other stat(s).

STRENGTH - Carrying, Melee
PERCEPTION - Accuracy, Searching
ENDURANCE - Health (+/- 1 MaxHP, default is 5)
CHARISMA - Persuasion
INTELLIGENCE - Knowledge
AGILITY - Movement, Item Skill
LUCK - All checks have +/- 1 imposed on them, except for buffed/nerfed stats. Also buffs gambling.

Also, I would consider it a close personal favor if you didnt break any forum rules. Maturity level is Teen.

GENUINELY forgot about this. I've almost finished the (admittedly kinda bland) map, just need some set dressing

Turn 1 New
The 3 of you decided to burglarize a house, so naturally you decided to steal from the one which looks completely dilapidated and thoroughly pillaged already. You came in a pickup truck you stole from your Uncle.

Begin (in no particular order)

  • Everyone's turn timer will begin once the turn begins
  • You can do pretty much any action that comes to mind
  • While moving isnt normally a full action, crossing the road is :)
  • Each turn will be marked by my message (representing NPCs or the environment)
  • If you die, you can be brought back through the exploits of the other players
  • You don't need to wait for me to roll someone else's action before performing your own, unless youre teaming up to do something or it relies on the outcome of the other player's action.

I can see this person in the bright green shirt, I wave back to them but I try to not get too distracted.
I look left and right and them left again and attempt to cross the road.

With a 13 (16 after Agility Bonus), you successfully cross the road and wave to the jolly man across the street successfully.

Also thank you very much

I would like to go talk to the person in the green shirt and ask them if it's raining outside
26625.webp

You yell across the street, asking the man if it's raining. He looks up and says, "huh. I guess it is..." as a storm sets in out of literal nowhere. He doesn't really like rain, it would seem.

I use my psi to attempt to grab an umbrella for all of us!
26630.webp

With a 3, (6 after INT bonus) you try to bring an umbrella over, but it actually just causes the owner (whose lawn you messed up with your parking job, might I add), to come outside and start chewing you guys out. It costed 2 PP.

Also the friendly neighbor went back inside.

Turn 2 New
Turn 2
Previous turn summary:
  • Everyone's favorite Spinel Apologist crossed the road and said hi to the Friendly Neighbor
  • Crink used Rain Dance
  • The Friendly Neighbor went inside
  • Ness attracted a hostile neighbor
  • The Hostile Neighbor is yelling about his lawn

Our next turn begins

Well, I am sure my comrades can handle the angry NIMBY. They also act as a great diversion. All attention is on the screaming guy, right?
The friendly guy's disappearance is a pity, but that all just means that hopefully no one will see me as I sneak to our target house's back entrance. I will thren use my screwdriver to open a door, or a window.

Sorry I've been gone all day

With a 9 (12 after the Agility Bonus), you sneak around the right side of the house, but you stop short as you see a... thing..? near a dog house with the name "Fluffy" inscribed. You're currently brandishing your screwdriver.

I start yelling meaningless arguments at the Hostile Neighbor as a distraction
26643.webp

With a Natural 1, you try to distract the neighbor with some senseless arguments, but you start choking on your own saliva as he just ignores you, and asks, "wasn't there three of you? This is sketchy..." before pulling out his phone. He will most likely call the police on the next turn due to his suspicions (though it should be noted that he doesnt know quite where Spinel went, bringing in the police can ruin your plan). You didnt take any damage (since persuasion fail -> Damage is just hard to justify), but now you have a sore throat
26645.webp

I tell the police (when they arrive) that i was just trying to find an umbrella
26648.webp

With a 9 (6 after charisma uhhhh anti-bonus? evil bonus? whatever), you try to reason that you just wanted to grab your umbrella, before the Hostile Neighbor cuts in and explains that the umbrella was his, before continuing that both Ness and Crink are "up to no good," with a third one who fled, which catches the attention of the police, however they become less alert when H.N. concedes that he doesnt know where the third went.

It would seem no lessons were learned from Onett.
