Yeah, what a sad day. I guess the mexican dubbers didn't tell since they dub the episodes to Spanish directly from 4Kids' version...

On another note, Marina's voice is incredibly annoying... =/

Edit: Oops yeah, I forgot to mention that Pokémon Chronicles will be airing in Cartoon Network LatinAmerica during the weekdays at 7pm, Costa Rica time.
 
According to the directors commentary of the first movie, 4Kids are actually strict in other countries not changing from their version. *cough*Hypocrites*cough* So it is unsurprising, really.

Does Vincent keep his Silver Conference name in that version?

Ket: both. =/ Hun is a she in all the sense of the word. Well, in the Mexican dub. I don't know if Spain has dubbed LOT or not yet.

FabuVinny: nope, he's called Vincent and he was called Jackson in the main series. >_>
 
Oh well. Not that it makes one iota of difference to the episode whatsoever. Never did understand the obsession with this.

It doesn't matter. They have no choice but to dub from 4kids. As far as I know, the English version is the only one dubbed directly from the Japanese version. Everyone else takes from 4kids' English version, hence why the Dratini episode is skipped in countries where they wouldn't have given a shit.

Had 4kids not changed Hun's gender, the Spanish version probably would have kept him male as well.

Like I've said before, this reminds me of Crusadermon from Digimon, dubbed to have a female voice but not quite genderswitched. I'm not sure how he came out in other languages.
 
Well, I don't know if 4Kids called him a man or not, but in the mexican dub they did and they dub it to Spanish from 4Kids version. It would be odd to know the English version has him as a man and the mexican don't, especially since he doesn't have boobs. I mean, that's common sense....

Why did Pokemon have to be taken by 4Kids and we were denied uncut DVD's and had to deal with their stupid edits? Did the Pokemon fanbase do something bad?

Latin America took 4Kids blunder one step further. I can't say I'm that surprised.

It happened, move on.

It's not as if the LOT Dub was actually any good to have been ruined by it, so I wouldn't worry about it.
 
But there were so many scenes cut out of the special anyway, so it could use a redub. And the correct name for Eusine.
 
There are many issues with it. Dogasu has them all listed in his episode comparisons. The dub of this really isn't as bad as some people make out, though.
 
It's the worst dub of anything Pokemon though. At least the rest of Chronicles was handled MUCH better than the Raikou special.

Names don't matter. Further, are any of the removed scenes really relevant? i.e., does the lack of a scene make the progression of events unnatural? And if so, how often does this happen?
 
Just read Dogasu's edit lists, they just changed way too much on this one.
 
Of course names matter! Eusine was called Eusine when he appeared in For Ho-oh the Bells Toll so why the hell would they change his name? Same with Jackson/Vincent.

Also, I don't think you'd be very happy if they changed Ash's name in one of the movies. Or would you?

I think I can put this into some perspective. Maybe Bashou's dub voice isn't intended to be female, just very feminine. I mean, ADV, who does great dubs, dubbed Kino's Journey, and even though Kino is a guy, I could have sworn he was a chick until I found out he was a dude...
Remember, the two are referred to collectively by masculine pronouns.

Or maybe I'm in fangirl denial.
 
Name changes don't seem that important to me.

As for the other stuff... I'm kind of lazy to read through all that and there's a lot of stuff I don't care about... and on top of that there are going to be spoilers >.> If someone would summarize the *key* screwups, I'd be truly grateful.
