If you tried the Battle Maison, you'll see there's only a few options for partners in Multi Battles (unlike XY Maison)

Wally
Archie
Maxie
Steven

Who do you like best as your partner, and why?

I haven't tried Brendan yet, but out of the others, Maxie was the best for me. Forget his Mega Camerupt - his Crobat was the one that dealt with all the work :3

Wally would have been much better if his Magnezone had Thunderbolt or something with better accuracy. Countless times he's cost a match with his Thunder missing.

Steven's okay - it's just that I have difficulty sorting out the right pokemons to take along with him.
 
I usually go with Wally or Brendan.

I agree, I'd pick Wally more often if he used Thunderbolt instead of Thunder. Why would they even do that? But his Mega Gallade is so OP, it almost makes up for it if he sends it out second. I've paired up with him the most and I think I got the farthest with him.

Brendan's team is actually pretty decent, so he's also fun to partner up with.

Archie's okay, but his team is just so frail. They're strong, yes, but usually end up dying very quickly, either to their own Brave Birds, or just being frail.

Steven is also pretty good, but I just never seem to have any luck with him. Ironic seeing as his Mega is one of the OPest.
 
I wanted to be BFF's with Steven for Super Multi (won Multi with Wally) but at the 20th battle, we faced a team that I swear was built just to counter Steven. Though, I guess I could create a team that supports his Mega Metagross more considering it gets screwed on the first turn by its low speed.
 
I like Steven, and I've gotten my farthest streak on super mulits (35... woo:l). Most of his teammates counter my team (Flygon and MAmpharos) pretty well. I just have to reset sometimes so he sends out his Aerodactyl first so I can use earthquake freely.

Look I know I said I hate the battle mason, but the only reason I go is to conquer it and put it below me. If there's something you hate floating around and mocking you, don't you wanna kill it too?

The only problem is that sometimes Steven is a moron. We would've won that battle if he used bullet punch, because it was his MMetagross against a Zororak, both last Pokemon, critical health. I'm like go we got this, but nope. Steven decided to be an idiot and gets night slashed into loss.

I wonder if your AI partners purposely be stupid just to lose. Isn't it irritating when you aim your attack and then your partner who has a higher speed than you attacks your target, KO's it, then you're forced to use a not very effective or no effect move on the other Pokemon? And it's even worse when your partner's Pokemon could've perfectly well killed the other Pokemon no sweat. But no.

I'd say the AI is pretty decent this time around. Nothing could be worse than Shauna's Goodra using Earthquake regardless of if your Pokemon was Levitating, Flying, or even weak to it!

Local friend. I ain't relying on any of those characters to try to reach for the 50 win streak, specially when their AI is terrible.
 
New theory: Winning the trophy with a partner unlocks the pss icon of said partner.

There has been witnesses of the icons and they're apparently very rare.
 
I usually go with Maxie. His Crobat saved us quite a few times when we were in a tough situation.
 
I FINALLY got 50 streaks with Steven :D
I had his Aerodactyl and my Rotom lead. While his Aero was doing what damage it could do, I had Wash Rotom Will-o-wisp whatever it could so Steven's Mega Metagross could take care of the rest. I had Mega Kangaskhan for backup.

By the way, the pss icon theory proved false. Nothing unlocked for me, so they're probably hacked.
 
I beat the Multi line with Wally. I used my M-Venusaur and Tyrantrum from my Y, as Venusaur was my best Dual-type Mega at the time, an my Tyrantrum knew a pretty decent coverage set, but Wally's Mega Gallade saved the win against the Chatelaines I faced (Evelynn and Dana. Damnit, Lumineon Y U So Strong with Ice Beam?)
 
I'd battle with Maxie if Alpha Sapphire allowed it. 8U If it does, I don't know it yet. I must settle with my second husband, Steven. Though I think I could work with May, too.
 
Fortunately, I have my brother with me. Even if he completely and utterly sucks, its a lot more fun. What's NOT fun is making up for his mess while failing to do the painfully obvious, but the feeling afterwards is unbelievably good. However, we're going to have to breed if we want a chance at getting farther than the 10th battle, as coordinating our attacks is really a pain, even if its better than the dumb AI. Losing on the first battle because of May's simple lack of intelligence... is not fun.
 
Maxie. I've grown to like him as a character thanks to OR, so the thought of teaming up with him after the story is just kind of nice to me. Although his Crobat is a serious kamikaze...
 
I've used Wally the most because of his Gallade.

the few people you can choose disappoints me tbh, what happened to the apprentice versions of your friends...
