Well, with only forty days remaining before the US release of DP, I began to wonder some things.

How exactly is everyone's battle style? Is it mostly offensive, mostly defensive, or a mixture?

By offensive, I mean, pretty much, you mostly use powerful moves like Surf and such, not caring whether or not they do status effects, and avoid non-damaging moves like the plague.

By defensive, I mean something like using accuracy-lowering and status-effect-based moves more than direct-damage moves. And recovery moves. Lots and lots of recovery moves.

And mixture, well, you should get it.

I'm generally an offensive battler. I can do mixture if I can be bothered though, but mostly I don't have the patience for it.

Trying to survey the scene? Smart.

I'm a mixture; both offense and defensive are equally important.

Eh, mostly I wanna see who differs from me in opinion...

I use a mixed style, I would just as quickly use a support move as an attack move. Of course, my style changes as the situation warrents.

I agree with C. I use offensive moves, but with a mix of defensive moves. Most of the time, I'll be using move combos. BUt I'm not really one for Healing or Protect/Detect.

I use a mixture of attack and defense, though I lean more towards offense. But I like to send a status effect or two in the way of the foe. Confusion and paralysis for the WIN.

Ditto. I love throwing in random status effecting attacks, both towards the opponent and to help boost my own Pokemon, but generally I'll focus on offensive movesets and the more offensive Pokemon. I love my high defensive Pokemon, but my ideal will always be something fast with a high attack stat.

i have only a squirtle so i use bubble then tail whip cuz rattatas use it then i knock them out before they land a very ggood hit so i vary on the pokemon i have and am battling

I usually use offensive moves in the hand-held versions and a bit of a mixed for the others...

Ever sense XD, I've been strategizing more. Including in Emerald with the battle frontier.

So, by average, I'm now a mixed-type battler.

Question; Why aren't there any defensive battlers out there? I'm suddenly tempted to make a few defense based teams....

I consider myself mixture, mostly because I have usually a good amount of defense-based Pokemon mixed amongst my offense-based ones.

Granted, I never give a Pokemon all status-effecting moves. It must have some way to cause damage. :p

I'm too afraid of OHKOs and near-OHKOs to set up stat boosters. I do like status effects, though.

I usually use an attack that is a status changer than go offensive, or try to
make them sleep so they can't attack.

I'm kind of a mixture of both.

But, over time I've gotton to be more offensive. I tend to use more moves that wastes the target's time. I like using combos such as leech seed+ toxic+ double team+ attract.

But, the reason I'm a mixture is, because of Pokemon like my Gengar.
