I'm putting this here cause I could not think of a place to put it. I had an idea, not sure if it could work or how it could be done. It would go like this:

One person uses any pokemon they wish. Other uses set pokemon and this is like a tournament to see how well you can beat the dex, (e.g. how far you can get, battling fully EV trained pokemon from each number in the national dex) like this:

You have an monferno, Chansey and Dugtrio. The first pokemon you'd battle is someone who has fully EV Trained:

Bulbasaur, Ivysar and Venusaur.

Beat those and you face someone with fully EVd:

Charmander, charmeleon, charizard

and so on to see how many pokemon in order from Bulbasaur to Arceus you can actually beat. Now the only problem with this is that you'd need people with fully EVd pokemon of those certian ones in the National Dex whereas the other person can use whatever pokemon they wish (Not sure if it would be good keeping their pokemon the same or not)

And we could see if anyone is actually able to beat the dex.More points for whoever gets higher.

Who's going to want to sit around EV training a Weedle, Kakuna, Caterpie, Metapod, Starly, Magikarp, Feebas, Wurmple, etc.?

I dunno, I could if I was bored and magikarp...just catch a high level one on resort area in Platinum. It was just an idea never thought about who could do the EV training on some species

What does catching a high level one have to do with EV training?

There's really no point in EV training a magikarp anyway. You'd probably just go for flail, maybe use a focus sash or something... What the hell, it doesn't matter. There is no point to battling a magikarp.

this could work if you just made it so you would have to battle against every fully evolved Pokemon in the dex. I'm sure you could find someone with every fully evolved poke that's got it fully EV trained.

How would you decide where to put the EV's though? Would it just be the first 3 pokemon, then the second 3 pokemon, etc? You don't just put EV's on pokemon randomly, you decide what set it needs based on what your party requires and assign EV's accordingly.
