Well, on Saturday, I did what I've been wanting to do ever since I first got my Diamond version....

I exchanged Friend Codes with two Japanese players, and then I battled against them.

Of course, I lost both matches, but that doesn't really matter. XD

I was completely amazed by the fact I was able to accomplish that.

And the people I battled with seemed happy about it as well. I think they were overjoyed about having the chance to battle someone from America.

Though, I believe the reason they turned off voice-chat was because of the language barrier.

Maybe once I get to know them better, they will allow me to speak with them in voice chat. At least one person from that site knows English....

So anyway, what are your thoughts on this? I'm I the only person so far, who's had matches against people from Japan? O.O

Cool, I was wondering how that would go about. I've had quite a few GTS trades with Japanese trainers, but no battles as of yet.

i WOULD LOVE TO BATTLE AGAINST japanese :3
too bad they had thier games for so much longer and probably much better teams than mine ;_;

You'd be surprised. I've battled a few JPN kids on Netbattle, and they sucked horribly.

Hey, we had a Japanese guy join Pokémon Highway once, and he uses a translator, but he never wanted to battle with us for some reason, I'll remember to ask when I get Pearl!

...which will probably be Christmas at this point.

I want to play a japanese player so much. It would definitely test my skill since they've had the game much longer than I have. I've played a few on wi-fi battle tower but its not the same since they dont actually play.

Maybe...

Japanese people is very shy. So Battleing between Japanese and seme, They often turned off voice-chat.

I guess it is not discrimination.
So you do not worry about it. :D

I can't blame them actually; I'd most likely turn off voice chat for all battles as wel.

It took me awhile and coaxing from people I know well online to get me to talk over wifi. I don't blame them either.
