Beating Ubers with non-Ubers

Lately I've been testing new teams and I'm trying to create a team of non - Uber pokes to beat Uber Teams.

So far my life orb, sucker punch honchcrow as counter for life orb mewtwo and Tangrowth as physical wall are the only two constants.

Especially sworddance/extreme speed arceus and Jirachi give me a lot of problems to overcome with non uber.

I'm trying to grab some new ideas to avoid getting stuck so what pokes/sets would you recommend.

Nattorei, apparently, is pretty good in Ubers.

The ubers game in the Pure white hack (my ds is still on loan with nieces) i use to test against:
Leading: Kyoger, calm mind, surf, ice beam, thunder, wacan berry
Sword dance/shadowforce/extreme speed/ Judgement Arceus - normal
Life orb mewtwo psyshock, thunderbolt, icebeam, aurasphere
Manaphy, surf, tail glow, thunder and ice beam
Dialga, white herb, Draco meteor, Earthquake, outrage, don't remember last move
Palkia, spacial rend, surf, aura sphere, thunder

This is the set i test against, but i am searching for a balanced non uber team which can at least hold its own against various uber teams.

Ferrothorn can defeat Kyogre as well as Manaphy. It can also outstall any Extremekiller Arceus without fire movesas well. This Dialga is stopped cold by Skarmory. Skarmory is also a backup counter to Arceus. Metagross and Scizor can defeat Mewtwo but only till a certain extent. A Chansey can survive Palkia's attacks unless it is specs'd.

So, a team of Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Scizor/Metagross, Chaney can work against this team. Finally you can also use Wobbufet to help you out and you can use something like DD Salamence to sweep.

Remember the team I suggested only counters the threats you mentioned. It may not work in all scenarios.

Excadrill + Sandstorm should handily trounce Zekrom, Dialga, Reshiraam and a few others. I'm not quite sure if Excadrill is Uber or not though. I stopped caring after the Blazikien ban. An Electivire may be worth considering. Earthquake slays the above threats while Thunder can be abused when Kyogre is brought to the game, or STAB Wild Charge can be utilized just as effectively. Ice Punch to deal with the likes of Rayquaza, and while I'm looking at Cross Chop, I'm not entirely sure what Uber it will kill that Earthquake won't except for Darkrai and Dark form Arceus.

To abuse Motor Drive, have a speedy pokemon perform Discharge, as for the item, I'd probably go with either the Choice Band or the Life Orb to boost damage output, preferably life orb to maintain coverage.

The pokemon next to Electivire will use Discharge. Discharge hits everyone in doubles, including Electivire. However, if you're doing single battles, that won't work.

In my test team there's plenty of thunder so a small prediction for thunder could work.

Ferrothorn was one of my standard pokes for this generation and while i still like it, i try not to rely on the standard pokes/counters.
