Beatrix Potter World

Yes, I remember those. One of the things people tend to overlook about the Beatrix Potter stories is just how surprisingly dark they are. Potter had the whole "ostensibly civilised anthropomorphic creature with the animal instincts always bubbling underneath" boiled down to a fine art long before Wes Anderson attempted something similar in his adaptation of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The TV series was great - lovely animation, beautiful music and very faithful to the original stories. That said, it's a shame that they never got round to adapting "Ginger and Pickles" or "The Pie and the Patty-Pan", since they were two of her funniest books.

NOSTALGIA FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
This brings up so many sweet memories. ;_;
My favorite was the one where the cat (Tom?) got stuck in the chimney. I think, haven't watched them in sooo long.

I remember having a video cassette of a few of the episodes of the TV series from when I started preschool in 2001. How I LOVED watching this episodes :')

And the books. . . Heck, I still read 'em every now and then. Especially since I have the Beatrix Potter Treasury Collection :)

My favourite was the Tale of Benjamin Bunny (with the cat, that was exciting.)

And the tale of Samuel Whiskers.. I remember that very vividly >_> That's the one where they were going to make him into a pudding.

That's true, but it's been common since then too, like with Watership Down and the Secret of Nimh.

Yeah, the one where they were going to make him into a pudding. That was my favorite for some odd reason.
I literally cried when I rewatched a few. It's been so loooong I forgot one of the best parts of my childhood.
