What are your thoughts on this movie? Are you excited? Not? Do you wish Disney would stop with the live-action remakes already? How do you feel about Emma Watson as Belle - or anyone else on the cast list, really?

Honestly, I was wary at the start, but BatB is one of my all-time favorite movies, so I'll definitely be seeing this. The live-action Cinderella gave me a bit of hope, because I loved that, so maybe this movie will do what Cinderella did.
I'm already in love with the set pieces, and a friend of mine is excited because one of her favorite actors from Downtown Abbey is playing the Beast.

How about you guys?

So

Where's a The Lion King remake already?

I'm excited, I liked the live action Cinderella movie, so I'm sure I'll like this one! :D

I hope they don't remake it, just leave it the way it is. It's my favorite Disney movie, and I feel like a remake wouldn't do it justice.

Well, considering how awesome The Jungle Book was, I'm cautiously optimistic. I hope they never remake The Lion King, though - the original movie and the Broadway Play are already pretty much perfect.

They haven't even announced The Lion King yet.

As for me...I'll go anyway since I like to compare the remake with the original. And for once, "The Jungle Book" was the first time I've decided that the remake did better than the original.

Maybe it's because snakes are some of my favorite animal ever and I know a lot about them, but I think I'm the only person who thinks Kaa was a Titanoboa in the live-action Jungle Book. Reticulated pythons are big, but not THAT big. I mean, hey, if they can turn King Louie into a Gigantopithecus, they could have intended the same thing with Kaa.

Also, the casting in that movie was great. Bill Murray is basically the best Baloo, and Christopher Walken as King Louie was hilarious.

Technically speaking, orangutans don't live in India, but they did find the remains of the now-extinct Gigantopithicus there.

At first I found it odd that they made Kaa a female, but then I realized why: whose voice could easily seduce you more, Scarlett Johansson or Winnie the Pooh?

I've heard that The Jungle Book is good on the Internet (the movie is still not released where I live) and I'm really excited to see it because my dad and I used to watch the old animation a lot. As for Beauty and the Beast... I'm so used to Emma Watson as Hermione, that I've had difficulty watching other movies starring her as other roles (Hermione keeps overlapping even when Emma Watson is acting as someone else), so idk if I'd like her as Belle. Also, the Disney Belle always being fascinated by books and the Beast dedicating a whole new library to her doesn't really help putting aside the Hermione image. I guess this is what happens when you've had too much Harry Potter in your life...

As for Disney live action movies (re-adaptations of the original film), I'm not too opposed to them. I liked Alice in Wonderland. I haven't watched Maleficent or Cinderella, but I heard they were pretty good. I'd like live actions more if they added new things instead of just upgrading the film from paper to people and leaving everything the same. There needs to be more than just a graphical upgrade.
