I've been cultivatin' of late, I have ~100 of each type of berries (available without trading to another game).

Anyhow, I was wondering wether anyone noticed that sometimes the game simply screws up the berries every once in a while. Now granted berry cultivation is a rather boring process and I tend to actually doze off while doing this - so I might have missed a few berries however this morning something which simply couldn't be explained by my dozing off. But yesterday when making my round I was especially prone and when doing my berry route I noticed that I might have missed plating berries (though I usually never do) and even mixed up berry kinds (I normally always put the same berries in connecting soils) - I fugred I was *really* tired...

However something threw me off as I had just watered 4 recently planted berries (Colbur berries, near the pal park on route 221) then flew off to water others near Sunyshore City on route 222 when the route 221 berries lit up on the poketch. Now this morning I wasn't dozing off so that isn't the explanation. I returned and only 1 planted berry had grown to the fully grown state while all others remained in their freshly planted berry state.

I've noticed this back in Emerald and it hapenned already before in Pearl but threw it off to unattention, so I was wondering wether anyone else experienced this...

Different berries have different growth rates. The type of mulch you use will affect it as well.

Yeah, some types of Berries (the common types, which tend to be good only for buying accessories from the flower lady) grow in a mere 8-12 hours, or even less using Growth Mulch.

Others (the very rare and useful Berries) can take up to 96 hours, or even longer using Damp Mulch.

Maybe you were just tapping A absent mindedly and accidentally fertilized the soil? I do that sometimes.

Hmm, I recently god rid of my Mulch because I was tired of pressing down when plating berries (and since making the "full berry round" takes me from 25 to 45 minutes (with honey tree and daily events), I never like to make my berries grow faster as it means I have to make more rounds/day... I take the train twice a day so it's perfect timing for 2 to 3 rounds a day for longer berries. So it is possible the berries which have "dissapeared" weren't forgotten berries but rather growth mulched berries that I didn't pick up fast enough..

It is also possible that I accidently mulched the above mentioned berry (Colbur) and when I planted them I hadn't gotten rid of the mulch yet. I remember planting the berries the previous day and (they are actually still planted this morning since I didn't have time to play yet - bummer this means I've screwed up the 5 berries) so I confirm they are Colbur berries and I had planted them the previous night (they were sitll in their seed state).
I watered all four of them, left for Route 222 and seconds later the 221 showed up on the poketch, returned and only one was fully grown.
Now even with the Growth Mulch that is simply impossible: Colbur berries are 18 hours per stage, given I was at the end of the mulch'd, my first pass would have been just before the FIRST 9 hours and it would simply have grown to the second stage; not fully!
