I'm just curious, does anybody else notice that they sort of "lean" towards a particular style of battling whenever they make competitive Pokémon teams? For me, it often turns out that no matter how hard I try to make a really good singles team, I end up trying a little /too/ hard and said team will end up working better in doubles or triples. Probably because I take my other Pokémon already on the team into account too much when deciding what the next Pokémon should be.

I like doubles. They don't take as long usually and take more skill to work together. I also like to play online doing triples, probably cuz nobody likes triples and the people playing have no idea how it works.

Definitely Doubles, it's the battle style i like the most. The main reason i like it is because some pokemon that are somewhat bad at singles become much more viable in doubles and some of the overused threats of singles become less viable. Basically, i find Doubles to be more balanced than Singles.

I really don't play competitive, but Rotation Battles are my favorite. Its like a single battle, but with more elements of teamwork and a higher level of prediction necessary since there are multiple Pokemon still in play.

Something else that I really enjoy about them over a standard single battle is the option of rotating a Pokemon, as opposed to switching in. When you switch, you're completely vulnerable to hazards or incoming attacks. And if you switch with an immunity to something, then basically nothing happens on that turn...But with a rotation you can potentially get things accomplished straight away, because you're shifting and using a move at the same time. That feels a-lot more fluid and active to me.

I play both Singles and Doubles. Singles, because I like to try out new individual strategies, and to test out new Pokemon, and Doubles because I am incredibly active in the VGC community.

I would have to say that out of the two, I prefer doubles. It forces you to handle two threats at once, and the reliance on your other Pokemon can make or break the game. Having a bulky Follow Me user is a great way to boost, and sometimes if you have a big threat on the other side of the field, you need to double up and hit hard.

Triples. The fact that walling and stalling techniques get you nowhere and the placement of Pokémon can be strategic makes me like it most. Rotations can be pretty fun too.
