Your favourite battles? What are they?
Could be a Gym battle, Leauge battle, double battle, contest battle, etc, any battle.
Why do you like them? Intresting pokemon, character development, cool animation, pure epicness?
Pokemon at its core is about pokemon battling and let us take a minite to think about those gems that were just pure awsome. Perfection, don't want to hear anything negative here.
I'll count down my top five:
5. Ash vs Fantina, 2nd match. In the middle of DP, it was nice to see the birth of Ash's counter sheild stratagey. Also Fantina is my favourite of the DP gym leaders and I also love Drifblim and was happy with how much of a powerhouse it was shown to be.
4. Ash vs Tobias. Though only two of Ash's pokemon got a win, all of them, except Torkoal, showed of some good battling and their contributions among their best bits. Sceptile taking out Darkrai was satisfying, he never really got a Charazard esc win back in AG and it was nice to see his bond with Ash being simaliur to Charazards. When Ash turned his hat back for the final match against Latios, we knew it would be spectaculir. There have only been a handful of awsome loses and Pikachu's loss to Latios was brilliant, espesually sice he was able to beat it at the same time.
3. Ash vs Brandon, 3rd match. Brandon used intresting Pokemon with intresting moves. I liked how Charazard lost here, their had to be a battle to show that he isn't invinsible. We got to see Bulbasaur and Squirtle on a whole new level to before and the Pikachu vs Regice was probaly Pikachu's first, awsome match.
2. Ash vs Gary, Silver Confrence. Ash came here with his Six strongest Pokemon (Mabye, Kingler instead of Bayleef) and it was great to see Heracross, Snorlax, Charazard kick but. Muk wasn't really a sloche either. I loved seeing so many of Gary's pokemon debute, his Pokemon hadn't really been focused on besides Umbereon and Arcnine. Blastoise, his starter was great, the best thing about the way it was wrote, we didn't have to wait till Gary's last pokemon to find out who would be his ultimate beast. Since Blastoise was revealed early on, we knew we'd get an epic final matchup against it. The anticipation was great.
1. Nando vs Zoey, Grand Festival. A good contest battle needs good animation. It was so good, I could belevie them when they said an attack was beautiful. Two of my favourite characters, four awsome pokemon with intresting movesets. The way Leafeon cut through the focus blast, the music and dance, Lefeon's wings of light, the snowflakes. Background music was epiclly chosen. The moment Lucky chant was ordered to counter sing reinforced awsomeness. The reactions of Dawn, Fantina, etc were great. Seeing Nando lose his cool for a second, raising his voice and sweting for the first time ever on screen. The initial hype was great, Zoey is abrilliant coordinator, however she lost to Nando once before and he is also stunning.
