Best Diamond/Pearl Pokemon?

I'm gonna play through Diamond soon, and I need help making a team and nicknames. Can you guys help me come up with them? I know I want a Torterra, but anything else is beyond me, and so are nicknames.
So planned team so far:
Torterra

 

[Skittymew]

I always liked Luxray, so get a Shinx. And call it Sparky!

Get a Gible and call it Drago

Roserade was such an improvement on Roselia. Don't get me wrong I thought Roselia was a great Pokemon but when it got Budew and Roserade, it went way up in my standards and I actually ended up training a Roserade to Level 100.

 

[Groudon]

Bidoof is the best DP Pokemon. Scratch that.

Not including Legendary Pokemon, the best Pokemon would have to be Garchomp. It has the highest stats of all DP Non-Legendary Pokemon as well as having the honor to be Uber for a while. It is not hard to see why. The Base 102 Speed makes outpace many threats coupled with a Base 130 attack, along with respectable 108/95/85 Defenses, and a decent move pool to abuse it's high Attack Stat, and you have the best DP Pokemon. Sand Veil doesn't make it easier to beat Garchomp.

Rapidash, since it's the only fire type in DP other than Infernape, and it's okay. Try it out. There's also Gastrodon.

Make sure you get a togekiss. They're so much fun to use.
(Name it Chocolate or Cream or Cookies or sthng. Anything sweet. )

Get a Mismagius. It'll do you well, and it's a really cool Pokemon as well.

I think easily, by far, a landslide, and an easy 1000 miles.....................GARCHOMP!!!!!!!!!!!

The best pokemon out there (besides legendaries).

It sucks that he cannot learn outrage though, but dragon claw or dragon rush are good substitutes. Plus, being a ground type earthquake has 150 power on non-steel, fire, rock, poison, and electric types.

Get a Weavile and then get someone to tutor it Ice Punch. These things are speed demons and are amazing in my opinion. Not sure what to name it though.

Luxray was pretty good, I also remember Skuntank being pretty useful to me, so I'd consider those the best Pokemon I'e used in Sinnoh(only played through once)

Magnezone > Luxray
That lock-on zap cannon combo
Plus magnets rise and there go like all weaknesses but fire.

First off, people should probably keep in mind that he's playing Diamond, not Pearl or Platinum.

Also Honchkrow is a total boss. It has AMAZING attack and really good special attack. It's not the fastest pokemon, but it's not terrible in that aspect. The only problem is that it's not very defensive, but you'll probably knock out the other pokemon before they can hit you. Also it can have Super Luck, Night Slash, and Scope Lens, so it can hit with critical hits a lot.
