So I was playing my new copy of AlphaSapphire, and I am at Brawly's gym, and BOY IT IS ONE COOL GYM.

First of all, it is an ACTUAL gym-GYM which I love. (I like working out)

Secondly, it still manages to keep the idea of the darkness that allows Jim Gai to say "Woah! It got too bright in here!"

And lastly, it shows off Brawly's personality in even greater ways.

Which gym redesigns have you liked over the years/remakes?

For me, it's Brawly's gym hands down, and a close second would be Bugsy's gym redesigned with the spidertrams in HGSS. (I always thought his first gym was boring). Third on this list would be Liza and Tate in Emerald - the rotating tiles allowed double battles to take place, which makes more sense considering they are double-battle centric. (Wouldn't know about their ORAS redesign yet, I gotta be playing a lot more)

What's your favorite redesigned gyms over the years? (obviously having to be in a sequel like GSC or B2W2, or a remake like FRLG or ORAS)

I love the Nimbasa Gym. In the original its an amusement park, while in the sequel its a fashion catwalk. Both are great imo.

The Olivine Gym in HG/SS is lovely. I love the dias that Jasmine stands on. It's so much more elegant than her gym in G/S/C.

I also really like the Lavaridge Gym in OR/AS. It looks so much more like springs now, and the red trees that surround the area where Flannery is are a nice touch too. While I'm on OR/AS, the Mossdeep & Sootopolis Gyms are pretty damn gorgeous now too.

HGSS:
Falkner's gym. Taking you up to a really high place really fit the flying type theme.

B2W2:
Elesa's gym. Fashion show galore.

ORAS:
Flannery's gym and Wallace's gym. They both have beautiful redesigns featuring water - one a hot spring, and one a waterfall pool.

HGSS: Blackthorn and Cianwood

Blackthorn looks epic and Cianwood just fits Chuck really well.

BW2: Nimbasa, Castelia, and Opelucid.

Nimbasa was cool in the first game and Game Freak made the gym even better in BW2. Castelia had an awful gym and got reinvented to look pretty darn cool. Opelucid had a massively improved puzzle and overall felt more epic.

OR/AS: Rustboro, Dewford, Lavaridge, Mossdeep, and Sootopolis.

Rustboro makes Roxanne feel really unique and does her character justice. Dewford is a massive improvement upon the original and fits Brawly's character. Lavardige now looks like a hot spring. Mossdeep is absolutely stunning. I mean my god is it an epic looking or what? Sootopolis also looks really nice but you can tell it was built by Juan as it doesn't fit Wallace at all.

BW2 had the best redesigns, some (most) of them had really fun challenges or were unique in that they were new to the series like Elesa's gym. I also loved Skyla's redesigned gym. The canons were actually pretty fun (especially the last one: faceplant!), but the wind turbine blew me away, pretty innovative imo.

I was also glad that they gave Opelucid's gym a redesign. Don't get me wrong, I like a challenge, but that gym took way too long.

HGSS-Cianwood Gym
The fighting master under the waterfall theme was a bit cliche, but it worked the best out of all the new themes. At least it wasn't Clair's awful, its a dragon gym, so spikes and lava work wonderfully gym.
B2W2-Driftveil Gym
The conveyer belt maze was the most fun I had with a maze gym. You had no idea what was next, where you had to go, and the bridges leading you to two platformers over instead of 1 made you lose track of your path.
ORAS-I guess Lavaridge?
All the gyms were the same as their RSE counterparts, so its nothing too special, unlike HGSS which had like half the puzzles switched around. But aesthetically, it was awesome with those red leaved trees.

The Cinnabar Gym in Generation II

Hands down the Nimbasa Gym in B2W2. I especially loved the progression of the music as you defeated the Gym Trainers (sidebar one of the best songs ever in the Pokémon series), and of course I felt #fierce walking down that runway.

Major props to the Unova Gym redesigns in general, actually. I thought Game Freak did a really good job with them in B2W2.

Honorable mention to the Rustboro Gym in ORAS. Too bad her gigantic fossil display at the back was more or less overshadowed by a similar display in Granite Cave later in the story, but that's another topic for another day.

HG/SS: Viridian, as it is actually tricky, and Azalea, as in the originals, it was just lame.
B2/W2: Nimbasa, for the Gym theme remix.
OR/AS: Dewford, as I loved having to remember the path before turning the light off.
