I really hope this hasn't been done, I did a search and everything...

But anyway, best theme from the Pokemon games? I'll go with N's Castle, both the theme up the stairway and in the castle. Possibly because of nostalgia; SoulSilver was my first, but White was the first I truly throughly enjoyed. Even now, I get a thrill remembering this is the final battle. The fact there actually is a build-up to N instead of random encounters like with almost every other team helps; but overall, it is composed awesomely.

For battle themes, probably B2W2 PWT Johto Champion. HGSS wasn't bad; but this turned it up to eleven in terms of epicness. Colress's battle theme is also neat.

I'm eager to hear your favorites.

I love the Amp Plains theme from PMD2, but if it has to be from the main games it would be the bike theme from X & Y

E4 Battle from DPt, Champion Battle from B2W2. Both are what I expect from a battle theme. Great reccuring rythym, good balance between low points and high points, and they do well for the situation.

I agree with ^, BW2's Champion battle theme is one of the best in ALL OF HISTORY, with DPPt's not far behind. However, Ruby/Saphire's Champion theme is a great Champion theme too. That AWESOME PWT remix helped too, I guess.

Also, The music from the Mystery Dungeon games (except GTI) IS GOD. There are just a LOT of instant clasics like the Base/Pokémon Squere theme, Sky Tower, Escape Through The Snow, Vs. Rayquaza, from PMD R/BRT, but PMD EOT/D/S has just as many, if not more, such as the Wigglytuff's Guild theme, A Wish For Peace, Don't Ever Forget, Vast Ice Mountian Peak, Temporal Tower (as well as Temporal Spire,) In The Morning Sun, Dialga's Fight to The Finish and Through The Sea of Time. I bow to thee lord of (Pokémon) music that are the first two Mystery Dungeon games.:unworthy:

B/W: Emotion. Gets me right in the feels. I'm actually surprised they managed to put it in X/Y!
Favorite battle team is Team Plasma Grunts theme. It just pumps me up whenever I hear it :D

The Pyrite Town theme from Colosseum. Wish there was a code just for (YouTube) sound.

My favorite battle theme would have to be the Unova E4 theme.

My favorite Legendary theme would have to be the generic Legendary Battle theme from B/W (used for Musketeer trio).

The first two Mystery Dungeon series do have some awesome music to them. From that series, I think my favorite theme, though, it actually not from a Dungeon, but from Deoxy's Friend Area, Enclosed Island. It just sounds so peaceful and fits the lonely atmosphere.

As of Gen VI I've come to love VS Yveltal/Xerneas/Zygarde. But I think my favorite battle theme against a Legendary is VS Uxie/Mesprit/Azelf. It just sounded so serious and climactic.

Champion battle music would have to be VS Lance. I just love that one~ Diantha's, Iris', and Cynthia's piano do come close~

Oh boy. Music makes the game for me. So much to choose from...

Distortion World Giritina's theme is my favorite legend theme. The song is high-tempo, intense, and fits both the Renegade Pokemon and the environment you face it in perfectly. Ho-Oh's battle comes in close for same reasons.

For areas/roads, I personally enjoyed the Victory Road theme from B/W. The song itself fits its environment, like you're slowly ascending to your ultimate destination... I especially loved how when you went through each gate, it would add a small part of the song until it all built up into the full theme. Very buildupish, perfect for a place like Victory Road.
Dragonspiral Tower was also very nice, with its piano and sense of awe built into it.

For music that accompanies things like cutscenes, The Dragon's Awakening from B/W (where Reshiram/Zekrom transforms from stone to dragon) gives me a lot of epic memories.

Now, for non-core series... the first two Mystery Dungeon games. The only thing better than their storylines is the music, which I still believe is the best in the franchise.

I think the easiest question to answer would be what music I don't like. XD I love all the music in the Pokemon games, really.

I love, LOVE route 10's music in Black and White. I love how somber it sounds, like you know things are coming to a close and your journey will be over soon. It is quite emotional. Another theme I love for nostalgic reasons is Red and Blue's credits theme. Those are the two that come to my head for favorite themes, but I have a lot more that I love!

Gym leader
The 1st generation music. The battle against Blaine always comes to mind when this music plays.

Rival
Silver's battle music.

Route
Route 42.

Special location
Can't decide between Dragon's Den and Indigo Plateau. Maybe Indigo Plateau's.

Pokémon
The Regis' theme. Can't wait to listen to it in the upcoming games.

Champion
Lance's/Red's theme, although Cynthia's theme is pretty cool too.

Other character
Sycamore's theme. A very nice song.

But overall I think my favorite is Lance's theme. Even the 8 bit one.
"I, Lance, the Dragon Master, accept your challenge."
Lance just appears clad in darkness all cool holding his cape, ready to wipe my unprepared team while I regretted having one Pokémon at level 45 and the rest at 35 and below. Then there was lots of Rain Dance and Thunder, which had very cool animations and made the battle even more remarkable.
The battle dragged so long that the song looped enough times to never go out of my head. Damn you, Lance.

The song improved a lot in the HG/SS remakes, but the hardware of the Game Boy gave it a unique touch.

Honorable mention
The Grandmaster's theme from Pokémon Trading Card Game.

I have a lot of favourites in different categories, but for the one with the most emotional impact, I think the original Route 32 from Silver. It's the sort of think people usually incoherently shout "NOSTALGIA!" and "THE FEELS!" for - for me, it just reminds me again and again of starting the great adventure on my favourite pokémon game. When I heard it before Soul Silver's release I just wanted to play again, right there and then

There are so many themes I like, maybe I should arrange them in categories:

Route
113. I just love this theme, it's super nostalgic and it fits the volcanic ash rain very well for some reason.

Character themes
Cynthia's piano. I wish I could play that on piano ahaha.
Sycamore's theme was a nice surprise, I didn't expect the professor of a region to have such a good theme.

Cities
Driftveil City.
Sootopolis City. Great town, great music.

Battles
Lysandre's and Maxie/Archie's battle themes. Cyrus' theme was okay too and N's Final Battle Theme was also cool ... I guess I simply like the "Evil Team Leader" battle themes ^^°

Locations
N's Castle Bridge. It is just an uplifting song. N's Castle itself was a great track as well.

Other
Unwavering Emotion. There are just so many memories connected with this theme and I was so surprised when I suddenly came across it in Y...

For overworld themes, my favorite has to be Eterna Forest from D/P. It is such a beautifully composed track, it gives the sense that the forest is peaceful and mysterious.

For battle themes, it's a tie between the elite four theme from X/Y and Cynthia's theme from D/P.

My favorite legendary theme is the one from X/Y. Not the one that plays when you catch Mewtwo, the one that plays when catching Xerneas/Yveltal.

My all-time favorite though is Stone Cave from PMD:GTI. It's just such a fun tune to listen to, and it's so well composed.

While this is probably obvious from me, but Cynthia's battle theme has always been awesome. The BW version is even better, but either way, that's one of my top favs. Whenever I hear it, it gives off a vibe of excitement and energy, yet sounds down-to-earth in a sense, kinda like she is.

N's final battle them is also a really good one. It's just got that right level of spark to get you going and yet have a sense of finality, knowing that your mission is almost over.

The PWT champion remixes always get the job done, giving off the perfect vibe for that battle.

Red/Lance's battle theme for sure, on both remake and original :p

Route 26; it tells the player "You've gone this far, no turning back."

And last but not least, the Hoenn legendary theme(and Regi theme too :p)
