I'm just starting this thread for fun to see which Pokemon, to you, the fan, looks best in the following categories. Stats are not relevant, just the design.
CATEGORY #1- "Beauty": Pokemon chosen by you for this category must look pretty or vary in colour. For example, nominate Milotic, Meganium, Cresselia or Beautifly.
CATEGORY #2- "Cuteness": Pokemon you nominate here must be downright adorable. For example, nominate Skitty, Pichu or Cleffa.
CATEGORY #3- "Grace": Pokemon you nominate for this category can seem to be feminine or just graceful. For example, Gardevoir, Dragonair, Gorebyss or Deoxys Speed Forme.
CATEGORY #4- "Toughness": Pokemon you nominate for this category must look strong, buff and/or macho. Obvious examples are Machamp or Hitmonchamp. Other examples could include Rhyperior or Tyranitar.
CATEGORY #5- "Fearful”: Pokemon nominated for this category must look scary, evil or monstrous. They could also have big claws or fangs or have dark and angry faces. For example, Darkrai, Glalie, Gyarados or Houndoom.
CATEGORY #6- “Weird”: Pokemon nominated here must look odd, whereby it is hard to determine what real-world animal or plant they may have been based off, if any. For example, Porygon, Unown, Regirock/Regice/Registeel or Bronzong.
CATEGORY #7- “Plain Cool”: These are Pokemon you think are just cool. They may not be graceful enough to fit in the “Grace” category or scary enough to be in the “Fearful” category, but there is still something about their looks that makes them deserving of being nominated. This is also the category to pick your favourite design. I would pick Mewtwo or Hitmontop.
CATEGORY #8- “Iconic”: These are Pokemon which, to you, have become real icons of the series. These aren’t necessarily version mascots or Pokemon used a lot in Nintendo’s advertising for the series but they are Pokemon you’ll know you’ll still remember when you’re 50 (no offence to anyone on this site who is 50 or older). These are also Pokemon you think have a real classic and original design. I would pick Magnemite, Ralts or Mew.
CATEGORY #9- “Worst”: Are there any Pokemon that you particularly DON’T like? This would be a hard category for me because I think all Pokemon look good in their own way. However, I think I’d go with Regigigas as I think it looks too ‘thrown together.’ I may have not liked a Pokemon’s design the first time I saw it when a new Generation came out, but then I began to appreciate them.
