I liked the Johto League Champions one the best, as an opening atleast. As to a song, the original. But I guess nostalgia is to blame for that in part. Still, listening to that now and going through all Ash has done in the various series is almost epic. o_o

The 4kids Johto openings were all very good, and gave you the illusion that Johto was a better arc than it really was. Its a shame that when you actually watch said episodes, the excitement and energy found in those Johto openings could not be found in those episodes at all.

Born to be a Winner (Johto League Champions) was by far the best opening of the entire series, in my opinion.

Pretty much any of the 4kids ones. They actually knew how to make decent openings, unlike the stuff that's been spewed out since.

Best- Sinnoh League Victors

(I honestly don't count the first one anymore, it would have to be best. But I LOVE the SLV theme)

Worst- Black and White

(It has good lyrics, but it sounds absolutely terrible. Off key, and the voices do NOT mix at all. It's also one of the most boring ones I've seen- not much is 'cool' to see in this opening. I dislike it so much it can actually be kind of be funny.)

English: Pokémon Theme, Born To Be A Winner, Unbeatable

the 1rst english opening theme was obviously the greatest opening ever,I still remember when pokemon first came out everyone was singing this theme everywhere,it stuck in all fans heads.

Black and white is very good but too short.
Advanced theme was also great but we only have a short version .

my least favorite one,and I'm glad I don't have to listen to it again the sinnoh league victors opening.

Am I the only person who thought this thread would be about the Japanese openings? Not to mention we already had a thread about favorite English Dub opening not too long ago...

Anyway, my favorite English opening is the 12th one (Battle Cry - Stand Up!.)

I already explained why in the other thread, but a quick rundown:

- The change in clips video change at DP121, showing that TPCi kind of gives a crap about the openings.
- The only English opening to present the show's logo at the beginning of the song instead of the end, like the Japanese openings.
- Extended version from movie 12

what were they THINKING when they made the DP rap? everthing after battle frontier was an obvious "okay, let's get get this over with. no one even watches the theme song anyway." if they were better we MIGHT watch them!
