So I'll cut to the chase: Venomoth has always been one of my favorite pokémon, so when I spotted a shiny 5IV Venomoth on the GTS I enthusiastically waved goodbye to my Yveltal and snatched him up.

This was kind of risky, given that a.) anyone can say their pokémon has five flawless IVs, and b.) they didn't say which IVs were flawless, but in this one, rare instance the GTS came through for me and my shiny new "Omot" was even more perfect than I'd imagined!

Level: 50
Nature: Timid
Ability: Wonder Skin
IVs: 31/X/31/31/31/31
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Moveset:
Sleep Powder
Baton Pass
Quiver Dance
Sludge Bomb
Shiny: Yes
Kalos Born: Yes
Memories: Yes

Now I've never used Venomoth competitively before, but I don't want to let what appears to be fantastic potential go to waste, so my question is: What do I do with him? :p

Basically I want to know a.) what sort of team synergy he would best fit into and b.) what pokémon would be best for passing Quiver Dances to?

I'm not too good with Venomoth but I am experienced with Quiver Dance. I would recommend passing the gains from Quiver Dance to something like Rotom-W, Rotom-H, or Rotom-C. Its also good to send buffs to Mega Pokemon that can utilize the buff like Mega Zard Y and Mega Blastoise

Ooh. Unfortunately you have the HA so you can't Ability Capsule it to Tinted Lens. I'd swap Sludge bomb to Bug Buzz (no immunity + hits thru Substitutes) and the EVs to 252 HP/4 SpA/252 Spe and call it a day. Venomoth works fantastically well with Specially Offensive Water types as it can BP to them so they can wreck up Rock or Fire types (and Flying types assuming the Water packs Ice Beam) headed Venomoth's way and it can take out Grass types that trouble its Water friend.

Yeah, I noticed that. :-/

Good call with Bug Buzz. I assume the more defensive EV spread would make him a more or less dedicated Baton Passer? (Though I suppose after a couple Quiver Dances he'll still be hitting pretty hard himself even without EV investment)

TerraTF mentioned Rotom and MegaStoise, who I'm sure fill the role extremely well but neither really excite me. Would Suicune be a good choice, or can Suicune even handle the current OU meta-game? (Sometimes I feel pretty ignorant on this stuff, but I'm wading back into a franchise I haven't played competitively since Hoenn so bear with me :p )

Suicune's a great choice, actually. I was thinking about mentioning it myself but decided to leave out examples so you could choose whatever you wanted to use.

Awesome! Thanks. :)

I have a Calm Suicune with good IVs, the only alternative Water-type-who-counters-Rock-Fire-and-Flying-Types I have on hand at the moment is the 6IV Omanyte I bred the other day - he has a Lax nature, unfortunately, but is that workable? Or between the two would you say Suicune is the superior choice?

Suicune'd be better. Other good options would include Starmie, Clawitzer, Octillery, Kingdra, Greninja, Seismitoad, Keldeo, and Luvdisc. If you wanna use Omastar then a) breed your Lax one with a Modest or Timid one until you get a 5 IV one and b) use Shell Smash. No need to rely on BP when you have a godly boosting move of your own... Same reason Manaphy's not a good choice - it's better off using Tail Glow.

Yeah, those boosted Luvdiscs really wreck the joint.

Thanks for the advice!
