I've recently got really into the legend of zelda saga. They are all really great games that are thourughly enjoyable. My question is what would you consider the best zelda games?

My favourites at the moment are Skyward Sword and Majoras Mask.

Oh and if people request a poll I shall put one up :>

Skyward Sword. Good control schemes, fantastic music, lovable characters, colorful atmosphere, and:

Ganondorf's origin.

ARGH WHY DID I CLICK THE SPOILER. Im at the sand sea.

That's really not much of a spoiler. I guessed as much when Nintendo told us that Skyward Sword would lead into OoT.

Anyway, Skyward Sword is my favorite! Minish Cap and Twilight Princess aren't far behind though. I wish Skyward Sword had more dungeons (and bigger ones), but it's still an awesome game. :]

TWILIGHT PRINCESS TWILIGHT PRINCESS TWILIGHT PRINCESS

And there's few here that would say the same.

What's not to like? -w- It's a massive game, with great supporting characters in Midna, Colin, and Zelda herself. Link's design is my favorite in this game, and some of the dungeons are really tough, like Arbiter's Grounds and Lakeside Temple. (I think that's right)

I guess.... The Legend of Zelda; Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, Phantom Hourglass, and that's about it. I've never played Ocarina Time before or the new one. Though, I'm hoping to soon. :|

Though, in my opinion, I liked Twilight Princess the most out of all those games (that I own). The story, bosses, stages, music and the characters, especially Midna.... But that's only what I think, please don't get upset... ^^;

@TheCapsFan;
Wasn't it Lakebed Temple?

I really wanted to say Skyward Sword, but a number of incredibly irritating sections and a little too much padding out near the end prevent me from rating the game quite as high as Ocarina of Time. (It's still my second favourite, though)

Ocarina of Time is a strong candidate for my favourite video game of all time; it was so ahead of its time, and still holds up to this day. It introduced many gameplay innovations, (how did we cope without Z-targeting?) and even with dated N64 visuals, the sound brings an incredible and surprisingly dark atmosphere.
Never before or since arriving in the future Market Town for the first time have I been more shocked and horrified. My beloved Hyrule - what has happened to you? This was a video game world that really needed rescuing, and seeing the many terrible things that Ganondorf had done to it was heartbreaking. About the only things I don't like are the stealth sections and the cumbersome way to change boots, which made the Water Temple far more tedious than it should've been. The ReDeads were also so terrifying, I was too frightened to enter any location with them, preventing me from finishing the game for almost eight years. It upset me greatly.

It is Lakebed Temple, yes. xP

I'll admit TP has my favorite dungeon, boss, and item in it (Arbiter's Grounds, Stallord, and the Spinner, respectively. They're all in the same place too!) while Minish Cap has my favorite characters and music (Ezlo ftw, Mt. Crenel theme ftw), but Skyward Sword still blew me away with everything. The story was great, the characters were great, the dungeons were great, etc.

Groose, for example, had some very interesting development. At first I hated him. He annoyed me cause he stole Link's bird, bullied him, and honestly thought he'd win Zelda over. I'm thinking "Dude, you're the last person Zelda would want to be with, jerkface! Link is her one and only!" and later on, when Groose helps you defeat a giant freaky monster, he turns out to be an alright and pretty brave guy. He even acknowledges that Link and Zelda are meant for each other and takes it pretty well. I now have a lot of respect for him.

Plus his theme was catchy and provided one of the most memorable scenes in the series for years to come.

My most favorite is a tie between Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Ocarina of Time.

I think that for the console games I own it's between Majora's Mask and Wind Waker. While for Portable Game is Minish Cap.

Ocarina of Time is one of my favorite and the first I played. I would probably have loved Majora's Mask, too, if you hadn't been forced to travel back in time an revert almost everything. They also removed the menu's save function in the English version of the game, which is the one I got.

I also like Twilight Princess, for there has never been a game where I can feel like I'm being such a part of the adventure myself, as this game does. Skyward Sword is great, but it lacks this part a little.

Windwaker is the worst of all times. I don't understand what's so entertaining about playing a melody whenever you wish to turn your boat around. And the Game Boy style graphics don't suit a console like Game Cube.

I must get A Link to the Past to my SNES and play this one too, because I've heard it's one of the best.

Look at my Avatar. That folowed by OoT, TP then TMC.

Definitely Majora's Mask. It's refreshingly different from the other games in terms of story and gameplay (the numerous side quests made the whole thing feel much more lively and intricate, and seeing the cyclical way the daily events occur can be entertaining and even thought-provoking), the atmosphere is outstanding, and, of course, the awesomeness that is the Fierce Deity mask.
After that would be, in order, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, and A Link to the Past. Skyward Sword seems cool, but I honestly haven't played it much.

I have not yet played Skyward Sword, but I am looking forward to doing so as in the 'Official Zelda Timeline' released in a cerain zelda book in Japan tat cannot remember the name of places Skyward Sword as the first game in the series for those of us going by the storyline of the games.

Ocarina of Time 3D was INCREDIBLE!!!! I'd never played the original so the story was a complete surprise to me, but...

The moment I saw 'Sheik' I realized it was Zelda. I easily figured it out with out knowing the story.
