Right, I found the booklet today (in brilliant condition 0:) that you got with the original Red and Blue, the one that had "Trainer's Guide" on the front.

Now, I was flicking through it, reading it, and I found this:

Now, hopefully you guys can read that but if you can't, the screenshot on the right reads: "The BROCK wants to fight!".

I read a while ago that the original plan had them saying "the-" at the start so it would have been "The Lass" or "The Bug Catcher" or "The Swimmer" but with Gym Leaders (and Elite Four Members, I think) it wouldn't work, as it would come out as "The Brock wants to fight" as you can see above, or, "The Lt. Surge" or "The Erika".

I didn't know that they'd accidentally left that screenshot in the booklet, and it made me wonder, do any of the other booklets have errors, beta-screenshots, ect...?

So, has anyone found any others, or is "The BROCK" the only error they've ever made? xD

I believe it was a bad copy, but the handbook that came with the JP Silver I got a looooooong time ago had all the pages in a seemingly random order. (e.g. the first four gym leaders were explained early in the manual, then there was a lot of other stuff, then the last four were introduced)

It says "The Brock" because Brock is just that cool =p

When Roark says he wants to be called Roark the Rock, he really means "Roark the Brock"

They edited it though, as it would be like "The LANCE Wants to battle!" And a lance is a sword.

Brock so cool he only needs to use two Pokémon. xD

I remember in my R/S guide it said a Vileplume and a Sceptile can breed together... Even though it showed they weren't in the same egg group.

The Official Nintendo Power Player's Guide for Pokemon Red and Blue shows some NPCs that aren't in the final game, as well as missing some that were later added.

Really? I haven't heard any of that online but I don't wish to buy the Players Guide to check at, the moment.

Don't all the gen 1 books (as well as the anime and an ingame NPC) states that ghost is the best way to beat a psychic type? Even though psychic is immune to ghost and all the gen 1 ghosts are week to psychic.:dizzy:

(Please don't start that whole "it's a friking programing error, faggot" I know that's likely the case, I just find it funny how every medium but the MAIN GAMES are right)

Psychic... is weak to ghost. Immune? What?

In Gen 1, wasn't the only ghost move Night Shade anyways? And that couldn't do super effective damage regardless.

So... would that mean when you battle a Rocket, it would be "The ROCKET wants to battle!"? I don't know about you, but I don't fancy my chances battling a rocket. Flamey boosters and all that.

Great find at any rate, Takoto. Those silly game makers, no grasp on grammar. 8D

I'm fairly certain that is not the case, but it's not like I'll bust out my old school GB/Pokémon Blue to see if it's the case.

dude, don't argue with everyone who did bother to check. Ghost does nothing to psychic in gen 1. End of story.
